All right, to mix things up a bit instead of talking about Rekki... let's talk about Jules! They've been causing mixed reactions in the comments so far!
Juliet Ellis, who prefers to be called Jules (age 20, pronouns: She/They), is the younger sibling of Urien Ellis... yes... as in... the guy who made himself King. As you can imagine, having your kind of an asshole brother decide to make himself king one night when you're ten years old is... not exactly a setup for a normal adolescence, especially if you happen to be an autistic orphan raised by your weird alcoholic aunt.
Still, they've at least always had somebody to rely on and that's Rekki Lune, due to the friendship between their families and Rekki being a lot closer in age to Jules than Urien, developed an "older sister" relationship with them and later took them on as a squire. Jules' highly creative but often strange approach complements how totally blunt and straightforward Rekki tends to be. Jules has successfully managed to gain a knighthood, but their skills really lie more in magitech, stealth and illusion magic than swordplay.
To cope with the stress of being related to an evil king, Jules has a tendency to "mask" (a term used in the Autistic community for hiding autistic traits by copying observed behaviours and slipping into a persona like you're playing a part, sometimes without being consciously aware you're doing it) by playing the role of a "villainess" character like from a cartoon or webcomic ....Admittedly they do this partially because they think it's really funny, but it's also easier to have people treat you like you're weird on your own terms by playing a deliberately weird character.
Jules is playful, clever, irreverent and blunt, but also plagued by a lot of anxiety... and has a very important role to play in the story as we go forward.
I'm going to tag.... hmmmmm..... @miss.monocle @Chita and @snowy !
