Georgia is the main main character of To the Touch. Her name is English in origin and means farmer. But within the story, she was named after Georgia O'Keefe (she has arty parents). But I'd be amiss not to mention Bevin! It's an Irish name, the anglicised version of 'Bébhinn'. It means fair lady o…

I'd like to be able to pause time. So I can have a lie-in in the mornings and meet deadlines without fear. Here's my comic!

Georgia doesn't really know what her biggest dream is. Probably to make art for the rest of her life - and being recognised for it wouldn't hurt. (Also she'd like to be with somebody, but she finds that embarrassing to talk about, so don't ask her or she'll squirm).

When it came to my comic, it went a bit like this: I had the idea and thought about it for a little while before writing anything down, so I could decide if this was something I wanted to commit to. I wrote out the characters that would be necessary and the skeleton of the plot I designed the cha…

This is an entirely self-gratifying post - this evening, my comic, To the Touch, hit one thousand subscribers. One thousand!!! I can't even visualise that. I'm probably going to do something to celebrate it properly, but in the meantime, I just want to say thank you, and also let all the creators wh…

Damn, thanks for the summoning @thel3tterm!! I'll tell yis about Georgia. [image] Georgia is a young Irish-Taiwanese artist. She uses the pronouns she/her, she identifies as bisexual and has a complicated relationship with... relationships. She is an introvert who hates to be alone, which is one he…

Love a good aul crisis of faith. [image]

fantastic, thank you!!!

I don't have twitter so I couldn't follow you there, unfortunately, but if you still want to promote mine then go ahead!

Here's my comic: And ooh, favourite comic is so hard!!! I think that would probably be Heartstopper by Alice Oseman, but I'll choose a smaller, more recent favourite of mine:

Here's my retelling and deconstruction of one of the most well-known love stories in Greek Mythology, in which a sculptor falls for her own statue. wlw for the win!!!

Congratulations on 3k, that's incredible - subs on my comic have been going up quite a lot since January which is amazing!!! A modern retelling and deconstruction of an old romance, in which a sculptor falls for her own statue.

[image] Here's Georgia from my comic, To the Touch. 1. She is Irish-Taiwanese. 2. She's an INFP - T (and barely understands what that means). 3. She had very long hair until she got a dramatic haircut at age eighteen. 4. She LOVES horror movies (her favourite is Ghostwatch) and horror video games (…

I just revamped mine - same vibe but better overall, I think. Old: [image] vs New: [image] Here's the comic these are from if anyone's interested.

1. 2. A modern, queer retelling and deconstruction of the myth of Pygmalion and Galatea, in which a sculptor falls in love with her statue. 3. (After the sculptor has given eyes to her statue, hoping to make them equal.) "There. Now you see me too." 4. I've aspired to be a writer and artist since …

The statue comes to life. That's pretty exciting. Absolutely!!! Well... there is a ticking clock in the background all the while. You can't get me to give away my ending that easily!!!

It's sort of hard to choose, but this is one I pride myself on. The art, but also the emotion, dialogue and pacing came out well, I think. [image] Here's my comic - a modern retelling of an old romance.

I didn't initially realise this would be a slow burn, but I've been uploading four pages a week for nearly a year and it is going... slowly. But building, I hope. It's a modern, queer retelling of an old romance. I hope you like it.

This was a bit of fun!!! [image] From my comic, To the Touch.

Here's my improvement over three years. It's really nice to visualise my progress! [image]

Oh wow, so glad you're enjoying it!! Thank you <3 <3

I've been gaining more subscribers over the last few days, which is mad! A retelling and deconstruction of an old love story, between sculptor and statue. [image]

When starting my comic, I was inspired by Isabel Greenberg's work. Isabel Greenberg is a graphic novelist who uses a limited colour palette in her comics, and so I decided to do the same with my own comic, To the Touch. I use greyscale for the main characters and limited colour for the background an…

1) I've been drawing since before I can remember (my parents estimate about two years old). 2) Following up from the first point, that makes fifteen years of art at this point. I'll be eighteen this year. 3) I'm Irish and can speak the Irish language somewhat fluently. 4) I'm dead terrified of bugs.…

A frazzled sculptor catches feelings for her own statue, and for some reason a weird old magic lady thinks it's a good idea to bring the statue to life. Neither sculptor nor statue are very good at interacting.

I think my comic would count - two adult women leads, art, romance, deconstruction of romance, the whole shebang.

I've always loved storytelling, and that includes folklore, fairytales, and mythology. Greek mythology is a favourite of mine, and I've always wanted to retell a myth. It was only this year that I read up on the myth of Pygmalion and Galatea, which conjured a huge reaction in me. I had so many thoug…
