If you are that type of artist who always want to draw something but never knows what to draw, this is your thread.
I know that might seem silly to not knowing what to draw since many (i guess almost everybody) people here have a comic to work on, but what if you didn't have a bigger project to invest your time, creative energy and drawing in it?
From my experience i'm not a 100% comic creator, the idea of making one of those long stories attracts me but i'm easy to fall out of love with my own ideas so i usually go for random sketches, studies and illustrations, but back to the point, what does it mean to be in a permanent state of art-block?
Some artists get art-blocks very frequently (they can last one week, one month and in the worst scenario even years) but trying to figure out how to snap out of this is always a new challange because art-block never originates from the same source.
Very recently i watched a youtube video from one of my favorite artists, which is Lavander Town (i guess many of you knows here) and she was talking about how to deal with art-blocks and how many different type of art-blocks exist (lack of motivation one, lack of inspiration, fear of failure, and so on...) and always in the same video she suggest for those who struggle with the "i'm always in art-block" situation to throw yourself into a longer project (comics, animations, artbooks etc etc...)
What are your thoughts about it? Does working on a comic (or novel) helps you to never get into art-block? Or do you feel the art-block from time to time too even while working your stories? Do you have any small suggestion to unlock yourself?
