I'm thinking of producing a fiction-writing manual. I'm preparing to start writing again, and creating a manual would be a way for me to refresh my skills and help other writers.
This will be a short but complete writing guide. It will cover prose technique, plot creation, and worldbuilding, in that order. The first edition of The Elements of Style is just under ten thousand words (or about forty minutes in audiobook form) and The Ruthless Guide to Writing Stories will be similarly pocket-sized. This will be something you can read in a single sitting.
Would anyone be interested? I'll need volunteers to provide writing examples. Dig up your old stuff and we'll have a few laughs. For the first chapter I'll be tackling Description versus Exposition.
