"Art and Execution" and "From the Tail End" are long-running novel drama series based in a fantasy world known as Istua. At a glance, Istua seems like a replica of the human world. The Istuans are even aware that there exists another world like their own but they are subject to the will of their gods, immortal beings of immense power and multiple bodies who serve the Creator.
In "Art and Execution," the daughter of the head of one of the most prestigious clans in slave trading meets an assassin whose current mission has something to do with her clan. Finding themselves inexplicably drawn together, these two teeter on the line between friends and foes.
This story is inspired by things I've witnessed. If you're looking for a traditional thriller or expect the assassin to be cold and distant, this isn't for you. This is a slow burn, featuring the daughter and her perspective on being raised in a clan of slave traders.
"From the Tail End" features five university students at the moment when a civil war threatens to break out in the surrounding region. Two of them are fighters from abroad brought in the hope of stalling the war, one a flashy mama's boy and the other a deadly bookworm. Their roommate is another outsider with mysterious origins, his secret girlfriend is the media queen of the school, and her best friend is The Queen of the university who has just set her sights on the deadly bookworm.
This story was originally inspired by Mean Girls and Heathers but it's definitely it's own thing now. Overcoming cultural barriers, differences in social and economic status, politics, girl's love, if you'd like a story with all that, I offer you "From the Tail End." Warning: There is a bit of swearing.
I'm not sure why anyone should read either series but what I can tell you is that I try to keep my stories, my characters and their worlds emotionally and logically honest. I don't like drama for drama's sake, and the world my characters live in is as much part of the story as they are. So if you like the idea of this kind of writing and either one of the stories above, have a look at the first episodes. Let me know what you think. Right now, I'm just establishing the foundations. In the future, episodes will be released weekly. "Art and Execution" on Wednesdays, "From the Tail End" on Thursdays. Should you like one of them, subscribe. Just be ready for the long journey ahead.
