Some mucking about with an old Manga book I found.

I haven't drawn in like 2 weeks. Back to flats. Ignore the blank spots in flats,I need to redo the panel lines.

Anyway, here's some plant ombre coloring for your day.

--Also don't be deceived. The coloring took like fourty minutes since Medibangs paint fill thing I'd trash--

Everything is a finished sketch if you're brave enough.
Some loose lines to start the day. I have some plans for October, but I guess I need to collect myself before that.

Some seconds quick sketches from memory, I don´t know why I sketched in green today.
I´m back in my schedule and timer thing and it feels good. I got a lot of things done this
morning and I´ll go on my daily walk now to learn songs

Yeah

Someone in the comments asked when will we return to making MOM. It made me really happy and sad at the same time, because I don't know. So I drew myself Pinky because he's that character that makes me terribly happy and motivated for some reason.

This is a fun absurd concept:

Some officers have dogs, others have cats but for Mariya... SHE HAS OFFICER CRABBY!!!

For this one, I was aiming for an early 2000s style Anime.

Good morning everyone,
new morning routine, back view Loomis.
I changed my daily routine since a few days
and I´m writing a journal about it for myself.
It includes excercise, music and drawing practice

@Lensing you make me wanna find and read Loomis :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

@Legendofgenii @l_vi I hope you're alright guys, haven't heard from you in a while!

"Before you get out of your comfort zone, get in it".
Well, you know what I have. A comfort zone.

I started with just a portrait, but I know now I need to use a bigger brush and work from afar without thinking much about details for these kind of sketches I am trying here.

@Kelheor the Loomis books are all great
"figure drawing for all it´s worth" is the best one imo.
I like the Loomis method to draw heads but I only use it
as a foundation for more advanced techniques.
It´s probably the same with figure drawing, I think it´s good
to learn a lot of techniques and then use them all in combination.

I didn´t know what to practice today, so I tried something out of my
comfort zone. Animals are 1) out of my comfort zone

Finished up a new OC ref early this morning since I couldn’t sleep

I’m Burning oooooooouuuuuuuuuut (somebody get the fire extinguishers ready!) Just Gotta make it over this last hump (5 panels) and then I get a vastly different scene to create and enjo (and pull my hair out over). I was hating my pencils for this particular drawing, but had a feeling that if I lost myself in the inks, I’d find my way to an image That I dug. Never thought I’d prefer inking to pencils, but life is strange like that.

By the way, this is ASL for “stupid” which seems kinda culturally insensitive (but since it probably came first and happened independently, it could bring some fun misunderstandings with some kuwaii characters in coversation.

Been sick the last couple of days so I've been sticking with just doing the layouts of the comic since they're quick and easy. I'll do the finishes for them later in the week.

BTW "Finishes" goes like this;

  1. Figure construction.
  2. Background construction. Normally rough backgrounds would be in the layouts too, but the two panels there are dialog heavy so backgrounds won't be drawn.
  3. Extra construction for tricky stuff like guitars
  4. Inking all that stuff.
  5. Filling in blacks.
  6. Adding whites for last minute corrections, effects, and style.

Adding text and balloons is a whole other effort.

@Kelheor I’m alive, and enjoying seeing everybody’s work here.

I’m swamped with work at the moment, but here’s a sketch of Sir Barrett dressed in the armour worn by Siren city guards.

And some work related drawings. :fish:
