My first true "sketch", or "doodle", in over thirty years. Shaded using crosshatching like I used to with a ballpoint pen (but this was done using Krita)

Now I see why people like doing B&W comics. Had I done this in full colour it might have taken hours. Doing it like this took minutes, and I like how it turned out. Not enough to give up my colours, but still...

Work in progress haha, it's pretty fun when not working on the comic.

Anybody do animatics to promote their work?

Besides color, the limitations of B&W can lead to some very creative choices. It also highlights weak points in your work.

I for one love the challenge of pure monochromatic art, no gray, just black and white.

The New Cover of Lyza's Sandstorm... continuing Chapter 09 with Diary 2: SING LIKE MAMA!!

I used to do monochrome as well, with very little shading. These comics used to appear in my high school newspaper, which was basically done on a photocopier. It was very low-resolution, so drawings could not be overly complicated (please forgive the obvious Simpsons-inspired drawing style. I was a teenager and back then the Simpsons were everything):

You might be wondering why he would have a cross to protect himself from holy cheese. I am too.

lol I love Mev’s face she looks so happy go lucky then meanwhile next her it’s like -___-. Also … Holy cheese?? And not just because it has holes??

When you slightly slander your own characters~ it’s okay though he’s the main antagonist. Video game propaganda version vs the in canon version. >:0 OH NO!!!

Yes the google search is cringe :sparkles:

Oh man, what a great couple of weeks on this thread. I am loving all the charming, animated moments and am so happy I caught up.

I made X-Men muppets. Please enjoy.

@DanielRKM wait is that official??:hushed: loving them!!

Imma draw stuff, imma post stuff.
Boy people loved beardy Vulf :smirk:

I didn’t think I could like Henry any more, but there you go. He’s even more awesome

Monochrome is the best medium for comic books I firmly believe. But then again, I don't like colored things haha. I'm very edgy at heart I guess xd.

I have a feeling my readers will grow an affection for Tabitha based on some of my friends' responses to her.

@Kelheor thank you! It’s official Fan Art  One day I’ll be bonafide, in the meantime, it’s good practice (and a nice way to make fanart to sell at future conventions). I’m already 5 weeks into the CBR.com thing and I have muppets in my portfolio! Also, Vulfgaar in a beard is TOO powerful (gasping for air/fanning myself).

I hope to get a larger following one day :'D I'd love to do a short, animated film of these guys!
Already have it drafted and storyboarded, Maybe I'll drop the ending of the comic as a short movie? XD

How's everyone?

Let's see your daily doodles
