Thanks. I don't usually time myself, but probably around 5-6 minutes apiece.

Ooo! I’m loving this one! :+1: Great pose. I didn’t spot the double tail last time.

Good cause to practice emotions, since I stuck with them lately. Stupid kids laughing at stupid adults :smirk:
I think we made their relationship too mature too fast, while in their company they are two teens, so I think I should embrace this dynamic more.

I try my best! Thank you for this opportunity really, I haven't drew them in ages :heart:

@DelythThomasArt thank you! Will you tell us more about Aster in the process? Is he a mage of some kind? It's lovely to read artists notes about their OCs

Well he's for my next comic project and sorta tied to a inksgiving goal XD

But he is a half human half forest spirit who travels around with his dragon mount to deal with spirit / demon issues.

I did pop this on the ‘post your latest drawing’ thread, but I think it can count as my sketch of the day, as I was working on it till the wee hours of this morning. :+1:

I’m going to keep adding more and more soldiers until I have a little Sayen Siren army. Perhaps some flying in the back?

I think I wing it when it comes to composition - or draw really big (or full figures) then crop it all down to fit a panel. :grimacing: Maybe I should be doing things differently?

What do you do first? Plan and plot, or just draw and make sense of it afterwards?

It's my favorite manga. Has been for over 15 years now. One Piece is basically the reason I even wanted to make my own comic.

I also wing it when it comes to composition. I usually just start drawing ultra rough sketches and then figure it out as I go.

Also seconding this XD your sketches are more like finished lineart. Which isn't a bad thing at all. Just kinda funny.

I tend to flip back and forth between the paint and eraser tools, so I’m cleaning it up as I draw. Sometimes I’ll use a thicker line/paintbrush then carve away at it with the eraser till I’m happy.

I recently went down from 13 (pixel?) wide paint brush to 8 for drawing/inking and I think it’s changed the aesthetic of my work (for the better I hope). Pressure sensitive tablet, so I can create thinner lines if needed. Chibis I still use 13, because the chunky lines are cute and cartoony.

Does anyone use a specific thickness of brush (or pen etc)?

@DelythThomasArt you are making it really hard for me to wait to read your comic until I get to your redraw XD. Your action poses look so natural and I love the character design on Aster.

@Kelheor the breezy hand motion really sells this one for me. Also, when and how did you get so great at making open mouths look so good :shook_01:.

@nathanKmcwilliams ever the master of iconic black and white - 5-6 minutes? Sheesh quietly turns green. I still haven't seen or read One Piece - it's a running joke with Mig that we suggest it whenever we don't know what to watch. It's just such a huge time investment!

@Legendofgenii Another masterpiece, damn. Could that be Gen's dad? Love the armor and the imposing-ness of the charge. For composition, I go back and forth. Thumbnails in grayscale can be helpful but if it's a single figure talking panel I just draw and crop. Yay, digital!
