@DelythThomasArt thank you - Smaugust is going sooo well though! Enjoying your hard work :).

@Legendofgenii thanks so much :coffee_love: and love to those abandoned sketches, lot of good stuff there - the 4th one is way too precious.

@Kelheor Your note on the study cracked me up. Shedal looks beauuuutiful - I'm trying to disconnect my eyes and brain wondering if the parts that look blue actually are.

I think "irritated" got through for today's prompt - not attached enough to this one to bother with color or refining it I think :sip:.

Sometimes you just need to draw your character looking like...that xD The blues are all grey part of purple and red spectrum, which is absolutely mind-blowing to me who is not used to this kind of magic :joy:
Great catch of the mood! You're absolutely nailing this challenge :persevere: Does it take a lot to get the idea how the particular emotion should look like? Some must be definitely harder than others.

Agreed! It looks stellar - I think those implied colors have a hum to them that feels really satisfying to look at.

This challenge is making me notice that alternate shots get used expressively all the time in stuff I watch/read for some of the emotions and not so much for others. I'm not being too tough on myself about getting it right, so the real hard part is that apparently I'm a self-indulgent artist that just wants to draw faces all day long... but maybe I'll be more creative with camera angles going forward, so that makes it worth it heh.

Thank you. I think I’ll try to rescue that one and Erras with his map. I need some panels where he looks happy. :joy:

we all do :relieved:

Entry for @Zak's thread

I finished another page of Engram yesterday, and got my second COVID shot so I am super fuzzy brained today (I can literally feel my immune system working overtime, with the weird sweat and headache and stuff)... As a reward, I allowed myself to draw some more floating heads.

These two have very different personalities, but I intentionally gave them a few common features (just cause... I like drawing them... namely that very pronounced fold under the eye, I just find it so expressive) so I wanted to draw them side by side to distinguish them in my head.

@Kelheor not that I know of. I just like TMNT. Been reading a lot of their comics lately, and watching the 2012 show.

I have martial arts class tonight, so I can use this study to figure out which part of my legs will be sore tomorrow! :joy: nice work!

And thanks, I had a surprisingly hard time expressing confused, as opposed to inebriated

Good luck! :sweat_smile::see_no_evil:

Love the composition on this one! :smile_01: These are bringing back a lot of memories (I was obsessed when I was a kid). Honestly I haven't gone back because Inspector Gadget was such a disappointment that I don't want to ruin anything else precious from my childhood :sweat_01:. How does the 2012 series compare with the '87 series if you've seen both?

I love the 2012 series. The final season actually has them team up with the 80s cartoon turtles. I'll admit that at first I was hesitant because of the 3D style, but it has grown on me.
There's some surprisingly well choreographed fight scenes, as well as some brutal moments reminiscent of the gritty b/w comics. For a show rated TV Y7 it's got some fairly adult moments.

There's a good blend of comedy, and the Turtles each feel well developed. It's clear the crew really cares about the characters and property. TMNT is a very adaptable series, and even in the comics there's quite a few alternate tellings.

So, I say it's good, but don't expect it to be the 80s cartoon, because it is a more modern telling. After the first few episodes it gains it's stride. I highly recommend it.

Side note:
Mark Caso, the original suit actor for Leonardo in the 80s TMNT movie liked my sketch on Instagram, so that was pretty cool!

Ah, okay then. Duly noted. :turtle:

(I just like posting that clip. I think it's hilarious. XD)

Hope you have a nice class! yeah, absolutely xD I already know that the part in my leg that hurts so much since last leg day is not the muscle I thought it was :joy:

Erick's appearance in my last post is an unintentional reference, to the album art from this song haha. This tune has long been a theme song of his, and I literally just remembered this dude in the middle with half a metal skull face XD

And what the hell. Since I'm on the same topic, here's my favorite panel from last episode of my comic, where his face gets burned off.

Yes, yes he is. Shredder is the quintessential hide n seek cheater. He even keeps his eyes open while counting!
