Working on white bg is making my eyes bleed but turns out it's easier to see the multiple layers that way :/.

Yup. So far I dig it. Thinking of doing the line work/color flats there and then bringing it into after effects for the final.

@migxmeg Woot Woot! Thank you!!! I hope the art makes up for the crummy mood I've been in ever since trying to get the timing right on this video (it's still... not). But I hope that animating for a bit will force me to think more critically about anatomy (and I may end up taking your course one day). Your stuff is looking GOOOOOOD!

Well @migxmeg @Lensing you guys have inspired me with your dedication to learning how to hone your craft with your posts.
I've also started taking lessons, but about Perspective and Backgrounds. These are fundamentals that I've struggled with and avoided for twenty years. Time to change that.

It's pretty obvious (to me) that I suck at this, so I'll be practicing this basic stuff for a while until I'm ready to move on. Wish me luck XD

I can recommend the lessons from Marshall Vandruff which can be downloaded from
his page, it´s from the time when he was teaching. It feels like being in a very interesting
class. I understood a lot of perspective after watching it 3 times and applying it

It's something I've been working my way up towards, but y'all's dedication gave me that little extra push.
(I went with a course by Ed Foychuk on Udemy this time. )

@DanielRKM you're dealing with a whole 'nother dimension! I can't even start with the critical thinking that must entail. And thank you :). I am constantly wondering if it's the best use of my time and the conclusion that I'm coming to is that it isn't... but it's the most personally fulfilling so the rest can go to hell .

@migxmeg thanks, yeah this whole thing is about changing my perspective, (pun definitely intended) from worrying about my lack of knowledge and technique, to becoming competent in what I was weak at before.
My hope is to gain a sense of competence so that I no longer dread the parts of comic making that are absolutely essential if I want to go pro one day.

I started lesson 2 of the portrait course I´m doing,
I didn´t get far with this sketch but I also didn´t understand all the instruction for
lesson 2 yet, but it feels good to continue in the course.

And I´m turning all the characters of the story I´m writing into cards.
I´ll prepare the character sheets, 3d models of their houses, stories etc until end
of the year and I start working on the comic in january 2023
