I've been reading the IDW series that started in 2019. It's pretty good too. I grew up on the Archie comics though. Definitely something that inspired me.

I Started with issue #9 and collected right on up to #50 (I also got a few early issues by sending in for them from the checklist form in the back. Little me hated the idea of cutting up my comic, but I couldn't have missed out on Issue #1 or #6 (the Spinball issue)).

I haven't delved too deep into IDW, though. The Archie series was my childhood love, so I definitely channeled that for Monkey Bunny, matured it up a little, and made it the comic I wished I could have read as a kid. That series, as well as the '90s X-Men cartoon, are the building blocks of my storytelling DNA.

Nice. I don't have any of my original comics anymore unfortunately. My parents got rid of them when I was a teenager. I had a subscription and everything.
I've got a couple of the archive books. But mainly now I just started reading the IDW ones on a library app, as the Archie ones are no longer available. They don't have the Freedom Fighters, but they do still have the vibe that the Archie comics did.
So far the best arc has been where Eggman creates a self replicating metal-virus that infects living tissue. It's got some surprisingly brutal moments too haha.

Thanks! I'm learning a few things about myself when it comes to inking. On the computer I will take all the time in the world, carefully laying down each line. On paper I rush and get panicked about the tiniest wrong squiggle. Looks like I've conditioned myself to rely on CTRL-Z too much.
