I guess I became a bit better in drawing from nature xD you must've seen the wolf I draw for the first comic in 2016, I swear it still haunts me :joy:
Gosh how can I possibly choose xD I have too many.
Probably Heilang? He's old, grumpy to crazy enthusiastic, sarcastic magical alcoholic wolf with dubious morality  I have the biggest soft spot for characters with big crazy smiles who don't hesitate to destroy.

What about you? :grinning:

Ah, I love it. I love big grins, too. I think it's part of my weird thing with really loving big/well-drawn teeth, especially sharp ones. That feels sort of weird to say, haha.

But yeah. I love his design, he's awesome.

Animals are insanely hard, and I should probably practice 'em a lot more, lol. I can tell your work is well-rounded.

My favorite of mine is a guy called Vengeance probably. He thinks he is a super hero. He attempts to dress as such but really just looks like he's into BDSM. Dude is completely asexual though, thinks he is very stoic and badass, and attracts animals like a disney princess, much to his chagrin.

I don't really have any great shots so here.

No-no, not weird at all, I relate a lot :joy: I probably usually find the most toothy character, point at them and decide to love them lol.
Ah, he's lovely hahaha, has this beginning of 2000's anime charm  oh, I know, makes me somewhat think of Masami Ōbari's style :coffee_love:
Is his real name Vengeance or is it an alias? :grinning:

Same, haha. Especially if they're kinda scraggly. There's just a weird charm to it.

I've been told I have an old school anime sorta vibe to my stuff. I've tried so many times to pull away from it, but I feel like it's just been completely embedded in my art over the ages, so finally I just figured I should embrace it. I had to look up who that was, lol. Definitely recognized his work.

His real name is Vengeance, sorta. It's this derpy universe I created a long time ago that I finally decided to make proper work of, where there are entities called 'Ikons' who are each the embodiment of human experiences and emotions. So in my story, the main characters are Life and Death, and in the literally sense they're the avatars of those things. But there's a bunch of 'em, and they can come from just about anything humans feel/experience on a large scale. Kinda rambling at this point but; Vengeance realized early on that humans seek vengeance both maliciously and out of justice. So he wanted to embrace the justice side because he was so disturbed by the malicious side. Thus the whole obsession with super heroes and stuff.

What I really like about your drawings is that it really looks like you care a lot for them
and that makes them come to life.

This doesn´t mean that I don´t see in the other drawings which people upload in the thread,
but looking at your sketches for a while made me realize that and I also thought about that
a lot when I was writing the last couple of days. Will the people who read it or see it care
for characters as much as I do. You know those questions probably

Completely agree. Kelheor's art is on another level IMO. Her lines are like someone drawing poetry (cheesy as it may sound).

Ah, you guys will give me a death by smiling too much :joy:  I really do appreciate it though and thank you, kindly.
@Lensing that's what I love about original creators, I mean, I follow a lot of amazing artists who make awesome fan art. But when you see the artist doing their own thing, I guess it's kind of...hits different.
I created most of my characters long ago with my friends and for many years I only cared about these OCs. When our little creative company disbanded in a way, for many years I wasn't drawing and one the reason was that other people weren't there to share emotions with me. At some point I decided that I will love these characters by myself with everything I have, because they deserve it  making comics, sharing art with people here really helps supporting this, even when the "no one cares about my art" mood hits.

@candiedcotton I really love to see older anime vibe at artworks. Honestly that's something I struggle to reproduce in some of my works, sometimes I even sit and think how I need to make a few completely different characters with this exact vibe. So yeah, definitely digging that!
I am not sure a lot of people love Ōbari, but I watched Gowkaizer when I was little... it wasn't a proper anime for a 10 y.o. but I loooooved the hell out of it anyway xD

Oh, that's a nice comic idea, I love the sound of it! Vengeance seems like an especially great shounen character :grinning:

Nah, it's deserved. I'm glad you share your work with us, it's a real honor to be privy to.

And I love hearing the stories behind characters, both in art and literature. It's always fascinating IMO.

And hey, if you ever want I'd be happy to draw one of your characters in my dinky old school anime style, haha. Just give me a good reference and I'd be honored. And yeah, he's pretty shounen. lol.

Horses have even longer heads, lacking free fingers, they unfortunately cannot translate their superior brain capacity into self portraits. But the rest already looks great.

Nice perspective ! I wanna eat that pink (or is it fuchsia?) soo bad ! It looks so tasty like candy :sob:

Have you guys ever looked back on an older piece (I don't mean years, but like a couple months or something) and realize something is really bad about it, only to wish someone had just honestly told you? lol.

Like if an eye is off alignment or the nose is funky, and anyone who'd seen it previously was just like, "ohoh, nice art!" when they were probably aware that the thing was off?

I mean, I get that giving genuine critique can be difficult, time consuming, even just felt unwanted but... damn. If my work ever has wonky stuff I want to know. It's kinda embarrassing looking at some older pages. I feel like I need to redo so much.
