Girl, who made me manicure today, was nice and friendly all the way, and eventually, when we were almost done, asked:
She (): What are your plans tonight?
It was unexpected, but intriguing. So I started to wonder, does she want to go out tonight with me? I decided to specify to be sure.
Me (): Why do you ask?
She (): ...
She (): Nothing, I just wanted, you know, to be nice. Polite.
She (): ...
And after that she didn't smile anymore, but instead just was like: until I gone.
That was funny. In my country, when someone ask in freindly manner, what are you doing tonight, it usually means that they want to invite your somewhere in most of the cases. And when you ask something like "why do you ask?", they usually tell you what they themselves want to do and ask, will you join or not.
I had no idea, that people in Britain do it just for the sake of asking... Do they? Or the whole problem is just in my sudden filthy smirks?
