So I went for a coffee between lessons today and I was coming out of the cafe, I saw an old lady trying to drive along with a piece of branch sticking out of her wheel. She looked all confused and kept just ploughing away even though she wasn't going anywhere. The people at the nearby bus stop were just looking at her and the branch nonplussed so I heroically went over, put my hand up to signal her to stop revving and started pulling on the branch.
And pulled out something the size of a small tree. It was definitely the length of the car.
The old lady had definitely noticed something was under her car now so came out to inspect and ended up helping me to move it out of the way. Strangely, there aren't many places for a piece of tree to go on the pavement so we were doing a sort of sitcom routine trying to prop up this piece of wood and having it still completely block the path. Eventually, we found this shed and managed to get it behind that. This whole time the bus stop people were just watching two little women, one at least in her seventies, carrying a piece of wood up and down the road.
Then, when it was all over, she thanked me and I went to my next lesson covered in mud.
My good deed for the day.
