I've been busy for the past several days but I'm glad to finish an ambitious drawing and the short story to go with it!

FINALLY finished work and [kinda] officially on vacation- well I actually gotta still transfer my stuff out of the old storage to the replacement one; once that is complete, then I can slide into vacation mode. Definitely looking forward to trying to get some art stuffs done...dont have to be back at work until the 27th- and hopefully that week [between Christmas & New Years] is light.

I needed this time off...

I'm officially done with my Inksgiving rewards. It was nothing special, but I really feel relieved and at the same time grateful to the creators who with their inks helped me carry it out. If I'm still here next year, I have totally different goals planned. For now I'm going to take a good rest. I'm going to travel soon to visit my mom,... well, I live in the city and she lives in a town. I haven't seen her in person for 6 months. I've been posting a story here since October, but in life there are priorities and being with my family will always be one of them. ️

FINALLY finished the transfer with my storage. I am tired, my feet hurt, and my back hurts from standing almost 12 hours a day for the past 2 days...I got locked inside the storage facility Sunday night(the temp had dropped to 33 degrees); had to call customer service so they could let me out.

The Good: was able to consolidate a ton of stuffs down- still got space in the new storage area. Got rid of a bunch of stuffs that I didnt want/need anymore, so that was good. Also found my Jim Lee X-Men cards from 1991...I thought I lost these between the several moves I've done over the past decades.

The BAD: The original art to my Clique #1 and Clique #1/2 were destroyed beyond saving(water logged and molded) (scanned and saved the art on my external HD though, but still hurts that the original pencil/ink/bristol art is gone); still going through my DVD collection...while my InuYasha collection, Big O, Code Geass, and other anime was spared- my Bleach collection took a hit.

I gotta go back to get the last batch of DVD's assessed, then I can start tallying up numbers to send to the insurance company. Trying to make it in between tomorrow or Wednesday at latest; it's been forecast for possible snow on Thursday and gonna be freezing this coming weekend...plus I'm trying to get this stuff out of the way so I can enjoy my vacation.

Welp...I am OFFICIALLY SICK. Started feeling like crap last night I shut everything down and crawled into bed; just got up and I feel WORSE(head feels discombobulated & coughing up phlegm; eyes are leaky/runny af- still "tired" and sore). Gonna go grab some soup and some orange juice, and just not really do much of anything today. Hopefully if I can get enough meds in me & rest I can bounce back within a day or 2.

Also: my Bombas house slippers arrived- man these things are comfy as heck! Not so much yesterday, coz my right foot was still hurting from doing all that standing- but they feel good on my feet this morning. They have a sherpa lining inside which is keeping my feet warm...had been looking for some nice comfy house slippers like this for A WHILE, but it seems they want to sell all these [bullshit] "heel hanging out the back" type house slippers for men.

Still kinda sick but not really sore anymore- just still a bit congested with leaky eyes(gotta put the eye drops in) and still kind of tired. Slept like 10 hrs...

Hope you get better as well...think I'm at 95% recovered now; still have irritated watery eyes, but a lot of the other sick stuff is gone.

Got in my "space boots" from LL Bean(actually winter house slipper type shoes that look like some type of futuristic booties); the last of my [self] Christmas gifts...

What do you do when you see an old drawing of yours that can clearly be redone much better, but you still really enjoy the rougher style of it? That's where I'm at here.

In most cases I actually leave it be...there was something from when I did the piece that I actually understood better in the execution/production of said piece.

Congrats! It’d be tempting to re-do pieces I feel that way about.

Some of my art challenge drawings from 2018 and 2020 seem kind of rough to me since I was trying to work within time limits, but I feel like I should leave those be unless I later think any of them could be done as part of a “draw this again” challenge.

I’ve been so busy and tired lately but glad I could post one more webtoon episode before the end of the year! I fixed up the art of several panels that are from the previous comic version, but wanted to focus more of my time on the new panels.

having one of those weeks where i wished I'd bothered to learn or comprehend anything about computer repair as my laptop has added noisy oddly functioning fan to it's list of issues. I'm basically afraid to use it given the volume of the sound of it running and the device still seems like... warm so idk if it's even doing it's job anymore or just running for the sake of it

what's more is just forcing myself to focus on or do anything that doesn't make me think about drawing or want to in general coz traditional sketching has been nothing but a bad time and only makes me feel worse about the laptop situation. overall tho just not making the winter down any better coz i keep thinking about how I've been trying to replace this thing since 2020 coz i knew it'd likely get worse from how it was then and it's proven me right each time despite my best efforts to keep it in good condition

sounds like your laptop fan has dust built up in it so it's not able to cool the system. All you have to do is unscrew the cover and blast the fan area with a can of compressed air. I do it every 6 months and it really helps my laptop performance.

I agree with the assessment. Also, if your laptop is sitting on a desk, I'd suggest getting a cooling pad(one with a fan and usually plugs into your laptop via USB) to help keep your processor cool and allow the laptop to function longer without overheating.

Finally got copies of some [ARRR] programs loaded on my laptop; I'm good to go...got new fonts on the Comicraft New Year's sale and plugged in my cup warmer(coz still NOT 100%, so drinking green tea & honey). Going to test out these Blambot brushes for Illustrator tomorrow; next project is to finally try to get all this stuffs working through my docking station properly.

Really hating that this holiday season is ending coz that means it's back to being tortured by the day gig. Gonna have to pinch pennies so I can start getting some debts paid off and put back some monies again; also gonna have to figure some sort of schedule so I can devote some time to art.
