Things about you, that annoy you

it's easy to be annoyed by other peoples habits and quirks, but sometimes we have thing about us that annoys ourselves.

In my case it's my typing. ( I'm going to have to explain that one ain't I)

As you might have seen I often have missing letters in my typing and have to go back and put them in because I don't always notice they are missing. this pee's me off big time, because I use to be able to type well. (despite my dyslexic errors)
I was trained to type at school, not on a computer keyboard but on a big typewriter, and I can type quite well and not a bad speed. well I could until my accident.
I know they say a bad workman blames his tools but in this case the tool is my right hand (or more the whole damn arm some days) Very few people know but I damaged my shoulder years ago while rock climbing and the damn arm has never been the same since, it effected my drawing but I am just thankful I still can draw. It's the typing that annoys me because sometimes i think I have pressed a key but the fingers have not quite got the memo and the letter ends up missing. so now you know.

I'm annoyed when my brain suddenly popped out a new idea for a story to make. They will always distract me until I finally write them down on the book. Once I do that, I'd be able to focus again... only for a while before my brain goes back to that new idea. Then I repeat.

I have an elitism streak and think either I'm better than others in some aspect or talent, or I believe I have good taste in media.

It annoys me because it makes me feel guilty to be over-confident in a community of people who often don't have confidence. I don't want to come off as an asshole most of the time.

YES! This is so annoying!

I had 5 ongoing projects (and around 10 shelved ones) and yesterday there was this idea I just COULDN'T get rid of, so I ended up making an outline for the story and write the prologue >< Even so I still have problems focusing on my main project...

You can overcome writer's block. But I don't think you will be able to overcome over active muse!!

I didn't count mine but one small block of my shelf is full of basic outlines, researches and plots since I use 1 book/idea.

I wish I was more driven to promote my work, trying to find any and all avenues to push my stories.

I feel you so much with the typing. I ruined my hands by writing excessively over the years and now my hands cramp up whenever I get close to writing 1k I managed to find a workaround but, well, it wasn't easy. Thankfully, I'm not an artist or I really wouldn't have known what to do.

The thing that personally annoys me about myself is actually my 'people skills'. I've had the problem of overdoing things when I liked people in the past (like if I knew them personally with giving birthday presents or if it was about some online group trying to be on as much as I can, doing group activities, answering every damn thread - that kind of thing) which seems to get on people's nerves. I tried to get rid of it and now ... I need half an hour to compose one response to a message It's a bit better here on the forums since, well, I tell myself it's a place where people are supposed to talk but I still often hold myself back from answering because of my previous experiences (I was basically thrown out of my old writing community because of the behavior I mentioned). I often feel it's kinda sad because I think people here on Tapas are more open-minded as far as I've seen and I probably shouldn't care about whether people like me or not but I just don't want to annoy anyone

i feel that. I like to help people and i like to give my opinion on a subject but i'm not one for dragging on conversations into the deep and meaningful, I'm quite straightforward really. I know i sometime annoy people with this but we are who we are. this is the thing about making friends, you get to choose.
I really would try to just relax and be yourself here, as long as you dont go out your way to offend people ,you should have no probs.
as for my arm, well yes it was scary when i had my accident (and this really is the first i have opened up about it) when i first hurt my shoulder i could not lift it for weeks, I thought my art was done for. but now on the upside I can use both hands for most things (apart from drawing and writing the left hand wont have anything to do with that)

I get really tired and run down more than I like. When I'm feeling worn out, I can't think and I can get snappy or miss details. I can't explain things well and I end up being blunt with my answers. I'm not rude; I just don't expand on points much.

Thankfully my partner and friends are great to me and understand my need to shut down and recharge. My partner and I developed a type of shorthand as he is the same when he gets tired. We often don't have to say much now to understand where the other is coming from.

I'm also trying to improve all the time. This sounds like a good thing, but it leaves me feeling like I'm never good enough or doing enough. This feeling is exacerbated when I'm tired so I try to cut myself some slack when that happens but some days are harder than others.

I'm lucky and very grateful to have such supportive people in my life though. It helps a great deal. I'm in bed, super tired from a day of work and my partner just brought me in some tea.

Yes, it's better here on Tapas anyway since people have been so accomodating so far (not just to me but with most people as far as I've seen). I sometimes just get anxious because I was really invested back then and being kicked out of there was one of the things that contributed to me having writer's block for one and a half years where I could do nothing but start things and then feel it wasn't worth it and I couldn't do anything right anyway and why was I even bothering? So I nearly gave up writing, was majorly depressed and only managed with a lot of will power and struggle to find my way back into this last year. I'm just super afraid that if I get invested in a group again, things will just repeat and I'll end up even worse than before.

And it's great that your arm is doing better and you even managed to get something out of that! It's scary to think we're so limited by our body. Having ideas and knowing how to do them is worth nothing if you can't go through with it because of physical limitations. I wonder if there was anything an artist could do if they really irreversibly hurt their hands/arms. That's a little easier for us writers, I guess.

I used to be very negative and cry all the time, I'm glad that changed. But I am still fighting with inner doubts if I am good enough and can success in working life. Right now I try to make living with my comic, so I am still sometimes worried if things work out and I hate that. I don't want to be worried.

Main thing that annoys me about me is my shyness, I'm too shy and I don't like it. Second thing is my kindness, others always using this for their profit and I'm always forgiving them >_<
Realizing problem is first step to resolve it, so I'm trying to fix these flaws. I'm far from success in it, but I'm anyway trying.

I do not consider being shy and having caring nature to be flaws, how ever i know from personal experience what the down side of both is like. I was shy for many years and my caring nature was used against me in a way that almost destroyed me. my advise is not to get rid of these quality's but to be very careful about allowing people to use your good nature. good luck.

@mariusthered def feel the whole dyslexia/typing thing. Just in the last 7 yrs I started stumbling on "the", typing "teh" or stumbling on "like" typing "liek". I think part of it is due to not having enough typing space( I work on a small cluttered desk).

@SilentHamster102 I'm always fighting this. I think my true nature is to be nice, and I am shy to a certain extent- but then there's the inherent lesson that has been burned in my body that a lot of humanity is shitty, so I keep almost everyone at arm's length. Throw that on top of being introverted and anti social at times, and it's a nice interesting stew.

Maybe these aren't flaws, but anyway I should improve my behavior to stop others abusing these qualities. And anyway with years passing I've got less and less aspiration to be caring and nice person. I'm still is, but any slightest thing I can consider a provocation/aggression towards me and I'm stopping being nice to this person. But anyway mistakes happening and sometimes others can exploit my kindness : (

@Shanny8 I'm experiencing things similar top yours. I'm antisocial for most time and introverted person too. And same feelings about humanity too, unfortunately.

I'm horribly shy. I'm working on it, so it's not as bad as it used to be when I was younger, but I still struggle which leads to me being awkward while talking with people. Sometimes even online... XD

Another thing that annoys me about me is my bad memory.
