Also, you get a lot of interesting word definitions that are really area dependant. So I'm from California where we call people 'dude', and 'man', and they are both entirely gender neutral. Like completely and entirely general neutral when you use them in California. 'sup.
My bro lived in West Virginia for a while and they have a term called "holler" which is a dip in a mountain or something like that, and it can also be used as a unit of distance. We don't have that anywhere else.
