Just want some opinions. I'm about 5 years older than when I was super active on my social media. A lot has changed since then and I'm no longer the same person. I'm undecided where a restart is in order. I could keep my old accounts, I have no problem continuing those, I'm not trying to run from anything. But I also don't feel like who I was reflects me anymore either. Problem really just comes down to naming. I had a pin business on Etsy briefly (had to stop due to upfront costs temporarily.) but someone already had my usual name so I made a new one: Luminosophy. It's a very pretentious mix of latin and greek that I interpret to mean 'bright idea.'

It's a mouthful of a word though. My old account is 'Spudfuzz'. Short, two syllables, easy to say. What do you think? Is 'Luminosophy' a bit too much for a name? Does it sound pretentious?

I don't really care about 'losing' the followership of my old account, because I don't care about social media metrics in general. I can rebrand some pages where possible and just make new ones on others.

I think you should go with Luminosophy. If you worried about people not being able to say it, maybe create a nickname from it that people can easily say. Because from what I've read, you've chosen this name to represent who you see yourself as a person.

Anyway, hope this helps

Luminosophy sounds fine, don't see it as particularly pretentious or anything.
Spudfuzz sounds more fun, but it has almost the exact opposite vibe to it. Luminosophy sounds... fantasy-ish? Whereas Spudfuzz sounds... punk, I guess?
So what I'm saying is, you should probably choose depending on what vibe you like more at the moment.

absolutely no harm in a rebrand if you feel thats what's right for you! ive done it myself a couple times and it can be nice getting that frest start or coming into a title or branding that you feel suits you better

as for the name it may be a few more syllables but its pretty and still just as memorable when you think about the words thay compose it (luminous and philosophy by the look of it) but i think its really nice
