I teach kids how to make comics, the older they are the more they worry.
The kids that I teach are 10-14 years old. The 11 / 12 years old usually don´t
worry at all. They have an idea and they draw. For almost all kids it starts at
the age of 13 that they worry about not being able to draw hands or other things.
I didn´t overthink or worry when I was 8-16 years, I just drew the comic, showed
it to my brother, we both laughed about it and I drew the next page. I usually
drew several pages of comics every day.
I got back into drawing comics as an adult and couldn´t even finish a panel in
the beginning and I was overthinking everything. Not being able to draw hands,
not being able to draw anatomy. Even though all my comics had some kind
of hands and full body shots, it suddenly was impossible for me to draw a full
body standing figure, even though I had done that thousand times when I
was a kid.
