My art skills aren't anything amazing like I'd hope, I have very little skill doing digital art, and sketching has become difficult with my carpal tunnel in the last couple years. Despite that, I've been thinking of starting a little comic somehow. I had an idea a while back to do like an ASL comic with a chibi hawkeye fan teaching signs... but I suck at drawing hands  Now I'm thinking maybe something simpler would be better. What do you suggest fellow artists? My updates would be sporadic due to wrist pain and classes but I want to try.

I say go for it. It doesn’t matter if you’re good, doing it more meant you’ll get good.

my advice is just do it without second guessing or you will just be stuck on the starting line

Go for it! My art style isn't particularly good, but I still draw comics for the fun of it!

Go for it! Maybe do a short story to try it out at least, and build a buffer or just finish it before posting so you don't have to stress about updates. But if it's something you really want to do then do it for yourself and don't worry about the little things. You can always go back and do a redraw later on if you want!

Comics are fun to create. If you have a website you can host them on there and here as well. Don't worry about deadlines just post your comic when you feel satisfied or pleased with your comic episode is ready for readers. The best part of it is having fun.

Do it. Nothing better for practice than a comic. And you don't know what you don't know until you just do it.

We all will just improve as we do, so go for it!
If you're concerned about drawing poses and hands, there are countless references available. There are many free apps for 3D hands and poses too.
However, make sure to take care of your wrists. Take breaks and do wrist stretches every once in a while.

I teach kids how to make comics, the older they are the more they worry.
The kids that I teach are 10-14 years old. The 11 / 12 years old usually don´t
worry at all. They have an idea and they draw. For almost all kids it starts at
the age of 13 that they worry about not being able to draw hands or other things.

I didn´t overthink or worry when I was 8-16 years, I just drew the comic, showed
it to my brother, we both laughed about it and I drew the next page. I usually
drew several pages of comics every day.

I got back into drawing comics as an adult and couldn´t even finish a panel in
the beginning and I was overthinking everything. Not being able to draw hands,
not being able to draw anatomy. Even though all my comics had some kind
of hands and full body shots, it suddenly was impossible for me to draw a full
body standing figure, even though I had done that thousand times when I
was a kid.

Here is my advice:
don´t think, do

I discovered internet comics before I got into college.

I wanted to get into art school, but they wouldn't let me in; I ended up taking classes in creative writing, literature, and film while teaching myself how to draw.

Once I graduated, I had a lot of free time while job searching, and I finally decided to just...start.

That's all you have to do.

Just start.

You all are so nice! I think I will go for it. I'll get started once this hurricane is over with. Thank you for all the support
