I wanted to propose my idea for a societal structure that I feel would best work for humanity and designed for its benefit. Also, feel free to add your own two cents or your ideas for how everyone's needs can be taken care of.
I feel like it's often fun to write about stories that are dystopian or critique or satirize a part of society that doesn't work, but I feel like it's also important to see and explore systems that are designed around the betterment of people's lives.
For this system, I am going to take some inspiration from societies that have existed for thousands of years all over the world. Hunter-gatherer societies for example have existed in mostly egalitarian societies with an abundance of food and the labor required to get food for the whole year only required 3 weeks in many cases. Societies like the Inca also lived in an empire that existed largely without money or markets and had a system by which people would get the food and housing that they needed in order to live and worked together for the benefit of the empire and their people. In these systems, people did not go hungry for artificial reasons like poverty.
Now, this system I'm proposing would exist in this world of ours. In this hypothetical system, current systems would be done away with and be replaced with mine(how this happens doesn't matter because it's a thought experiment so it requires some suspension of belief lol).
This global system would no longer be focused on things such as economic gains or accumulating money and capital from the exploitation of the environment and its limited resources.
This system would make addressing the material conditions of the people its main concern. We produce enough food for ten billion people, so food distribution would become more efficient to get food to people who are starving and make sure their nutritional needs are met, and food waste would be heavily decreased.
Needs such as food, water, and housing would be guaranteed and resources would be put into creating housing, and modernizing infrastructure would be implemented. Resources would be put into schools to modernize them and increase the standard of learning that people receive. Health services would also not be barred from people under any circumstances.
Also, overproduction and waste of resources would be cut down and the environment wouldn't be treated as an infinite unlimited resource to draw from.
With abundant resources, people would be able to take things according to their needs and contribute to society by their means. And with automation becoming more abundant and certain jobs requiring less effort to perform, people would have more time to put effort into studying and performing jobs and tasks that would benefit society.
Essentially a society centered around the actual material needs and concerns of the people without actively exploiting them or using slave labor to create things.
