I love Alice in Wonderland even though I have never read the book and have only seen the movie twice back in elementary (I'm 22 yr old right now). It's funny to me how kids are shown a movie that has "adult" theme and Alice not understanding anything which is ironic how kids also don't understand it either.
There's this anime that I thought was (in my opinion) really unique in how it introduces the isekai concept, with the story having 98-99% nothing to do with Isekai and was only brought up in various scenes. The main protagonist who's half dead and half alive, wanted to create a new world where it's a utopia for the monsters so the humans won't have to be devoured ever again.
Though, writing this made me realize how much it resembles a story I heard as a kid. A story about the dead and the living where they used to share the same world, they go on fights and arguments. Until one day the finally took the issue to heaven. The heavens heard both sides of the story and decided that dividing the world into two world is the best choice thus creating the human realm and the spirit realm.
I just find it really unique how story telling have evolved so much and yet we still tell the same story regardless of time. Now makes me think that there's going to be a time where modern technology becomes ancient and yet still the same at the same time.
But yeah, I don't find Isekai to be a stupid way to tell a story. It really is just what you want people to know or gain from those stories. I dislike a certain ways of story telling in an isekai setting so finding story I would vibe with on genre alone is a lot of work, and honestly I don't have the same amount of free time I used to have, so stories will be judged more on covers/description. I try my best to make my description and cover as interesting as possible. I have been thinking about changing my cover in a week or two so I hope it changes the game a little bit. If not that's okay.
