So Inksgiving is coming up, and the only thing I can think of is commissioned one shots.
Did prizes help you get more engagement during the last tipping event or nah?

I announced my incentives for Inksgiving yesterday, and I've already got new tippers  They're early tho... XD

In short, yup yup yup!

I'm doing an AU oneshot for everyone that tips, and offering an extended version of a future chapter for a minimum threshold of 500 drops of ink. It might be kinda low? But? Maybe I'll know better next year ha ha

I'm only doing incentives for two of my projects because I have too many and I can't handle that much extra work with the contest going on right now.

There's a short story collection, I offered to write a new piece for every 1000 in ink (collective total). If a person donates that in one go they can give me a general topic to go from.
My main work I'll be running different exclusive stories- an AU, and a smut scene to be delivered through email or private message. I'll be releasing the AU as a public extra so I'm allowing readers to vote for the pairing/situation involved through smaller tip amounts. I may just write something fun too because there are babies in the novel right now and I love them.

I've already had people donate and had to re-explain that the incentives are for the actual event... so I say it works

Extended version? Would this be fluffing up the chap for fans or adding content that was originally suppsed to be there?

Ohooooo, that's a neat idea.
Hm, maybe I could do a "Day off" one shot of the character the top tipper chooses.

I'm gonna send mini-prints to people who tip 5k+ ink (ā‰–į“—ā‰–āœæ)

This is my first time doing a tipping reward so I have no idea if it'll work or not but I have a ton of these to give away anyways.

My incentive is to use the tips to vote on your fav ship (I have a romance comic with lots of ships), winning ship will get a doki doki bonus ep if I get atleast 5k ink.

First tipping event for me, but I have a commission type incentive going @u@ some quick bust sketches for people who send 3k (black&white) or 8k (colored), and the person who tips the most (regardless of the amount, if it's like 10 ink so be it lmao) gets a full color full body commission.

I figure it'll have low impact and someone will get a nice drawing, or I'll swamp myself in sketch commissions. Looking forward either way xD

I considered saying every 20,000 ink given, I'll draw, and color, a sketch of one of their characters. I'm wondering if that price is too high or low? Any thoughts?

It's going to contain content that is against Tapas's policy, so I'm providing a link to those that meet the quota and they can read it off site  The original chapter will have a "fade to black" ending, and the extended will have the juicy bits.

It's just NSFW sexy stuff tbh XD

But it's already gotten me supporters even though the event hasn't started HA HA

20,000 is quite a bit, but I know your hardcore fans will be willing to dish it out! Your art is amazing and I really love it; though I can't personally afford that price, I imagine a few people can, and those that do tip will give you plenty of work!

If you lower the price I'm afraid you'll have your hands incredibly full, so maybe 20,000 is a good balance

Thank you so much for your thoughts lol. 20 K does seem high, but I don't want to lower it so much and have like 100 people backlog me with drawings for a month xD

Also, am I right in that 20 K ink is roughly $20? At least when I go to the ink store, there's an option to buy about 22,000 ink for $19.99?

Yup! $1 is slightly over 1k ink, but that's more or less a fair way to price things. For my incentives, I went with 3k and 8k on the notion of them being roughly $3 and $8.

@TheFalseVyper @Rhonder if you multiply the ink amount times 0.0008 then you get the USD amount :3

so 20k would be $16 USD. minus tapas' fees on top of that. and more fees if the ink was bought instead of earned RIP

My tipping/ink reward is a ā€˜pin-up’ illustration which I recycled from my previouse Patreon rewards. That way folks who don’t like Patreon have a chance to see those illustrations too and I can increase my income a little without putting in too much extra work
I ask for 1000 ink drops (which roughly equals the $1 tier on Patreon, for which the illustration were intended originally. Sadly I get a bit less out of it, but the donor, assuming they purchase the ink, pay a little over $1 because of fees. So I don’t want to jack up the price further)

The reward is received pretty well so far. I already got two tippers who claimed it and a fair amount of smaller tips, some of them from repeated tipper.
Compared to the last months it’s going pretty well.
I’m positive that at Inksgiving there will be more tippers who tip for the reward...I hope I’m not too optimistic tho
