I recently activated the ad revenue program which I was led to believe also includes tipping. A friend of mine was looking at my comic on the app, but she didn't see the option to tip me. I'm wondering if it takes a while after the ad revenue program is activated for tipping to activate or if something is wrong.

@michaelson okay, so I have some coin on my books that more or less I cant use. I'm figuring that it's the coin from the tipping day/event where we were supposed to get back half the coins(or something like that) for all that we tipped. I've been staring at it for a WHILE...am I right? I know there was supposed to be a waiting period of sorts on it before we could use it...

@michaelson Hi Michael! I have two questions.

Q1: Earlier this month, when I watched the longer ads I got 80 coins, and the shorter ads 12. I never got the 80 coins payout prior to this, nor after that particular day. Back then, I figured maybe it was a new payout setting since it was a new month, so I didn't report it then - but now, since it hasn't happened since that day, it makes me wonder: was the 80 coins payout for the longer ads intended or a glitch?

Q2: As I'm located in Sweden, I also suspect this is the reason there are whole days when I don't get any ads at all to watch (due to the pool of available ads being probably smaller than the US pool) - but I also want to ask, is ad video availability influenced in any way by connection speed/link quality? I have a feeling I get more ads when I'm in the house that's the source of my connection, as opposed to the house I live in, which is connected via radio link.

I would add to this that we can have several days in a row without a single ad all day long.
And sometimes we watch an ad but don't get any coins for it afterwards.
The day when we got 80 coins for a lot of ads was absolutely glorious however, we hope it happens again.

I've heard people in general are getting very few ads so it's not just area relevant anymore... This one girl I know of who used to get a constant stream of ads now gets little to none.

Back in February when tipping had been activated for a lot of people but wasn't super new (meaning the hype had died down a little, more people were trying to tip and more people were available to tip - which means there's more people that have to "share" the coins available) I usually got between $10 and $40 before fees daily from the tips. Now I get between 0.80$ and 6$ a day, and I still provide rewards for people who tip. So I can see the trend of coin earning going down through that as well.

I've got hopes set on the additional coin earning ideas tapas staff is working on. Hopefully that will be more stable than ad providers.
I'm not providing my side of the issue to complain because I'm happy we have the tipping feature and a little money is better than no money. I just wanted to toss what I knew into the stirring pot so tapas staff has more voices and info to work with.

What sort of rewards do you do? I know it wouldn't be anything like the old Support system but just curious if I was to have it activated.

Also total ad revenue I've gotten, not included what ill be deducted, is around $60 for not quite a year's worth but maybe half a year.

Currently i give out rewards to individuals that tip larger amounts, like if someone tips 3000 coins and comes to me and tells me they did that (i can't keep track if they don't), i will give them one of the yaoi pics that I offer for patrons. On patreon te $10 supporters get 4 a month so 3000 coins is like approx worth 1/4th of that so that's why it translates that way.

I also have a big group reward thingy where I had a poll for my whole audience with audience suggested group goals, and the highest voted reward is the one they're tipping togeter towards. That one works like "when this much has been tipped to me total by the whole audience I will do this". Currently the group reward goal is a 30 page beach day chapter for Bloodroot.

Also, I don't know why I don't have your comic in my list anymore. It must have vanished during a purge because I was pretty sure I was following Ghost Play since the old chatango days.

That happened to me too. I had a few thousand coins (I'm guessing from the half back event) that I couldn't use just sitting there. When I checked today all of my coins are gone! Does this mean that coins expire?
