If a character was wronged, and only kills those who wronged them, should they be let to roam free like nothing has happened at all?
Let’s say A was plotted against by B and C’s factions. A almost died, but survived, with an oath to kill all those who wronged them.
So A went and annihilated B’s faction, killed the people from C’s faction sent to kill them, and is in the process of wiping out C’s faction.
But in reality, C hadn’t plotted anything against A. It was only C’s advisor, D, and the people sent by D to kill A who were in on it. Once C figured out the plot, they threw D into the dungeon and went to confront A.
Question is, do they just talk the misunderstanding out, and get back to being buddy-buddy, or should A be killed/punished instead?
A didn’t kill anyone who didn’t hurt them, but in the process of killing everyone, they did try to hurt those from C’s faction who weren’t in the wrong.
On a tangent: I really wanted to say “it was only D(io)”, but I probably shouldn’t.
