Traditional LineArt with Digital coloring and shading?

Has anyone tried this? If you have please add a photo...
I wanted to try this but my photocopier wont connect to my laptop. So I was thinking if I could see how the trad. lineart blends with the digital coloring, if it doesn't I'll color my work in traditional watercolor instead.

I prefer traditional art and watercolors are beautiful ,i suggest to do that.

this was my latest! it's Orelie from my comic, SARGENTUM. it was a pencil drawing, which I worked on in 8B (Daler-Rowney 8B pencils are my love) and tried to keep as neat as possible, which was hard as i'm naturally very messy

i scanned it in and just added as bright colours as i could, which is pretty unusual for me seeing as i'm normally a desaturated earthy tone person, and this is the finished thing!

personally, i love pencil tone with digital colour - coupled with kyle's dry brush pack, the effect is soft and organic.

the prologue of my comic was digital colour with trad lines, but i really disliked the effect there and quickly went for full digital lineless for the actual story. i think my mistake there was using fineliners - they're my kryptonite and my art just looked flat and unprofessional. now i wish i had stuck with traditional but used pencils instead. it really depends on the sort of art you're trying to create, and where your strengths lie. trad art is a while different ball game to digital, but combining them can be beautiful.

I also highly recommend doing traditional graphite linework and going with a painterly texture digitally. However, the key is to focus on the cohesion of your media styles. A raw, textural traditional approach is best complemented by a similar digital finish. If the aim is for a smooth, crisp digital painting style with soft gradients then a suitably sleek or rich inkwork would be an ideal partner for it.

Here's a piece of an illustration that was inked with 0.01 pigment liner and painted digitally. I tried to keep the linework tight and fine while keeping in mind the lineless, flat-painted digital background.

This is an example of the same kind of fine inking but with chinese ink texture overlayed on digital flat fills. The illustration gives the impression of being traditional but only the linework and ink splots are.

Here's highly textural work done with graphite and an achromatic ink wash, then scanned and digitally painted using multiply mode. It was a test piece for a lithgraph I made.

There are SO many cool possibilities for digital and traditional media combos, it's really just a matter of experimenting and finding that which best presents your art style!

all my life, it seems like something gets lost from the sketch when you ink it, some mysterious organic lifehood goes flat! mechanical pencil and multiply layer is my jam, my modus operandi, my habeus corpus carpe noctem.

and why should a sketch be denied the satisfaction of vibrant, arresting color? sketchcolor is not only good and acceptable, it is THE BEST.

Yup, I do the lineart for my comics traditionaly, then color it with Photoshop. It's probably way easier to edit lines if you do it digitaly, and I think the lines look better too, but I feel I could never get used to draw digitaly.

Yeah, I actually use this method for my entire comic. I use dip pens with Speedball India Ink and microns for line art and the rest is digital.

Almost my whole comic and most of my regular art are traditional lineart and digital colouring

I usually don't like how it turns out when I try this, but here my most recent attempt at it from this past summer.

Until I can get my lines to look more consistent when I scan them in I'll probably just stick to digital inks. I've seen some artists do some beautiful work this way though.
