Troll invasion on Tapastic

I remember making a statement like this in the topic I made for the Farewell of Bleach but I just wanna know what the tapastic community would do if lets say a herd of trolls over 5000 in number from all over the world invade tapastic just for the fun of bashing every creator's work here on the website and also ruining the comics for the readers.
I'm just imagining me coming to see my comic's notification and I get over 100 notifications and me being all cheerful n all decides to see what it is and what I get is a buttload of different insults to my comic, that would be incredibly heart aching.

I got some troll hate back in the day , was one of the reasons I stopped posting originally but I found deleting them and giving myself a treat and pep talk (sometimes called my mom) made things a bit easier to deal with

Man, I dunno. It would probably be chaos. I would probably stay off of tap for a while, haha;; I'm not good at taking criticism or compliments so even if it's troll-y, I would likely still take some comments as food for thought and mull over them for days. Still, with that kind of set-up, it would also be easier to not take any of it seriously.

I don't care much about the bleach topic, I just wanna know how people would handle it if trolls came to this website to target people's comics especially those in their early stages.
For me I'm good at taking criticism for my work but having up to a thousand people bashing my work would definitely be a downer for me

There is a different between pure trolls and legit criticism to me. I can't take legit criticism well because I know they are right, and that I still have a long way to go till I can improve. It makes me feel discouraged but at the same time motivated (???) it's a complicated feeling that I would describe as a love hate relationship.......

But trolls on the other hand that just spout hateful thing just for the sake of hate. I can't give two shet about them. They can hate on the series all they way, but if they have no legit argument for their hate, everything they said are invalid to me and I will simply turn a blind eyes to them. I know there are people who enjoy a series, and remember readers won't settle down for some trolls hating on their favorite series. The power of whiteknight, be it good or bad, is very unsettling... : )

Depends? Sometimes when the trolling gets so obvious, it's easier to just laugh at it. You know it's not you; it's them. It can get really, really annoying, but it's never personal. And all of those hate comments would probably help push your comic to the Trending 8D

Not that I WANT it to happen to me, but if it does, it's not a big deal as long as they don't stay.

The best way to deal with a troll is to ignore it, most trolls just post to see who falls on the trap and annoy that person 'til the end, but if nobody falls on the trap they simple go away.
There is a huge difference between trolls and criticism, trolls try to destroy you without giving you a proper reason, in the other hand, criticism tries to point your fails so you can fix them, without diminishing your work.

I can handle legitimate criticism of my comic so long as its not douche-y in any way and the person actually knows what they are talking about. Trolls on the other hand specifically those bullying other people I follow like those imposter trolls from earlier this year or if a troll was bringing up personal stuff regarding me that's not even remotely related to the person I am now I admit does and probably will make me very irate for awhile. Like there is a difference between riling somebody up and being an asshole for petty reasons.

Anyway, the worst we've had here at Tapastic was last summer's "The Great Babaji" who flooded the forums with his voo-doo palm reading garbage claiming he could help us find happiness in every facet of our mundane lives. I imagine if something like that happened again, but on a much greater scale, the mods and staff would be able to clean the mess up in a timely and orderly fashion.

@Puppisama Also true. DO NOT FEED THE TROLL(S)! Believe me. They will get bored rather quickly if everyone is wise to their ways.

I love legitimate criticism (even if its handled in a douchey way - though it probably won't warm me up to the critic) but I feel like I wouldn't handle trolls very well. Not because it gets me down, but because I would probably fight them with him humor and snark. It's an impulse I cannot resist. But that would feed the trolls, which is bad because you don't get rid of rodents by throwing cheese at them.

I would lump the douchebag critics I have seen in the same boat. They feel like trolls to me for two reasons.
1) They talk similarily except more derivatively.
They're the awful version of Git Good, Scrub! To them the solution is never fixing specific things, it's scrapping all of it while keeping according to them the one redeeming point.
2) They won't leave as long as they have any power.
And by douchebag critics, I mean the critics who aren't one and done, but are in fact douchebags.

Just because there are some assholes out there that want to discourage people for luls doesn't mean a creator should take it seriously.

When people say "Ignore" to me is one of the most ignorant things possible. in the same way that if you ignore a bully, that's not going to stop them from bullying you. In fact its going to give them more incentive to keep bullying, or this case, a troll to keep trolling. You ignoring them is only a sign that you're willing to take the abuse without question.

And you all frankly shouldn't.

I'm on another forum and whenever we have trouble with trolls or questionable posters, we IP ban them and get them off the forum. Because ignoring them doesn't do anything, they are going to keep posting, they are going to be poisonous to the forum and until they are dealt with, they will keep causing problems.

If anyone is having legitimate concerns for such an issue, talk to staff or something. I assume Tapastic has something to deal with unruly posters.

Yeah, I would assume that if there is a flood of trolls (true trolls like the "you fuckin' suck" kind), they'd get reported and/or have all their comments down-voted/deleted to oblivion.

I imagine that if that happened to me, i'd cry for a week and then go crazy and tell everyone to back off and that they all suck, but by then all the trolls left and my subscribers unsubscribed because they thought that I was yelling and them and not the trolls... yeah... that'll happen in a year time.

I dont see a problem here seems like ya should make better comics then problem fixed.
