I got the idea from a bookmark I've had on my toolbar where there was a few tutorials stashed in a folder and it got me thinking how about creating a line where people could link a few of their favorite drawing tutorials. Together this could help other artists and provide a Tutorial Library for people looking for tutorials.

The only requests I have is

  • keep it safe for work.
  • Tell what the tutorial is about
  • thank the tutorial's creator by user name as best you can.
  • Putting politely what you like and don't like about your tutorial is optional but a fair review helps make browsing easier especially when the tutorial finders are seeking something specific and polite reviews are always helpful.
  • check this forum often so we don't accidentally put up the same tutorial twice in a row.

Here's the one that inspired this, it's been sitting in my bookmarks box and I'd like to share it as a toe in the poe so to speak. This one has a focus on drawing anthropromorphic animals which if that isn't your thing that's cool. What I like about this this tutorial is how it broke down all of the basics, the human anatomy, the animal anatomy and then how to tie it all together along with light and shading.

The tutorial is really in depth. It has links to many of its references. The index as well, has a list of all of its books which is great to find some materials outside of the internet. Which makes this tutorial a great starter platform to build off of or tidbit to borrow details from here and there to put into your own drawing style.

However it does not cover composition, perspective, or background. It's focus is on people, animals, and that somewhere in between. Also a little nudity but that's only in the human anatomy section which is modestly covered up.

You can find the link here.13

Credit is where credit is due. A big thank you to the Deviantart person who made the tutorial. If the creator of the tutorial is reading this. I wish you would put your username somewhere on the tutorial because I'm not used to giving anonymous thank yous but I'm guessing the creator is from Deviantart because the people on the credits page happen to be Deviantart users. So thank you tutorial person.

Uh, that's not a link to any tutorial, that's a link to a comic series lol

I'm quite a fan of Kate Fox's pose sets she does. I started supporting her recently on Patreon as she delivers even more pose references through there for download. Though they're very stylized, I enjoy having a reference library of her work. A few of her earlier ones (before her Patreon) are available for free viewing on her DeviantArt account4 smile
