Hi there,
I'm Shinto, or PriestOfDudeism over in Webtoon Canvas and am currently publishing a comic called Plot Armor Academy.
Quick link for reference: Plot Armor Academy
The idea is a simple one on paper. Create a meta universe similar to that of "Rick and Morty" in comic form.
As for a quick synopsis:
The plot is set in a universe where fictional characters reside before and after they get published. Residents of this world need to attend an academy in charge of teaching characters how to behave according to set archetypes like "harem protagonist", "Tsundere", "Edgy Antihero" etc. And upon graduation those characters get their much needed plot armor.
The main characters of this story are Kate, a cat-girl and daughter to a retired catnip newspaper advertisement and a former magical girl anime mascot, destined to be background character but wanting to work herself up the ranks and eventually become the protagonist of her own comic ... And Jeremy, a scrapped and discarded self insert type "Rick" ripoff who is dealing superpowers under the table and wants to abolish the dystopian society he is forced to live in.
I've been going at this solo for a while but it would help to have some ... help. Initially unpaid but later down the line it might turn into something profitable for all participants.
What I need are:
1) Character artists capable of creating and designing their own OC's for the story and the universe.
2) Background artists able to draw in perspective with an eye for detail.
3) Colorist who knows (or wants to practice) coloring quickly and consistently in a simple style.
4) Writers wanting to flex their skills at creating believable characters and plot lines within the universe.
What everyone (except the writers) need to bring with them is access to Clip Studio Paint EX, since that's what I use ... (I'm sorry all you Photoshop and PTS people out there)
It would also help if you knew your way around using Discord for a quick and easy way to share progress with the group.
I'm looking to publish at least one episode a week (2 or 3 would be preferable though, to abuse the algorithm) consisting of 9 colored panels, currently done in a simple cell shaded cartoony style. There is also a YouTube channel on its way with the goal of adapting the story into animation waaaaay later down the line.
If you feel comfortable working in a small team to create a big meta story about the depressing realities of an existence as a fictional character, where your life depends on the amount of fans you are able to create, then hit me up in the comments below ...
or directly on discord by adding this here dude: Shinto is a religion#3756
