Unpopular Opinion: I don't like the Tapas Emotes

I usually have to bend forward a bit to see what it is. lol And I'm pretty good at seeing details, it's my job.

people have opinions about EVERYTHING, how vocal they are varies a lot on a case by case basis.

not caring also counts as an opinion due to the choice of not being invested in it.

Gotta say i wish they were a bit bigger for better visibility tho.

That's a bit of a rude topic. Someone went out of their way to have a fun community event done while also expand on our very basic set of emojis.

If you would prefer the Tapas team goes back to their old ways of not putting more work into this forum, this is exactly the way you can accomplish that.

People are allowed to have there feelings tho, even if they can be rude. Some of the things said aren’t helpful but I think it’s agreed that people would like bigger icons/cleaner detail so it’s easier too see them. Which is a fine critique.

Anyway, I wasn't trying to be rude. I didn't fling any insults; I didn't make any sweeping generalizations, I even admitted that the idea itself was a good one...I simply stated my opinion on how it was utilized. At worst you could call this constructive criticism.

I would hope that the Tapas team would have the professionalism to look at a topic like this as information on how people are unsatisfied with their work and how to improve, not as an excuse to stop trying altogether. ._.

I would hope the same, but you may agree that it takes quite the wind out of your sails when you do something that you don't have to do and then topics like this one pop up.

Constructive criticism has been provided in the Emotes threads, which is where it's the most helpful - that's where the artist can see them easiest and make changes if possible.

I'm probably too emotionally invested, as I've seen in the background how much work and effort went into this. You can criticize all you want and obviously I won't stop you from doing that. But just as any other user I'm asking that I get the option to grumble about it.

They could be a bit bigger so I could see the cute details, but I like them. They're no different than discord servers having their own custom emojis. You either take 'em or leave 'em.

And usually, if someone looks at the discord custom emojis and not understand the idea behind them, they kinda just...ask 'bout the story behind them.

She's right though, this was unsolicited criticism of something you got as a bonus for free. Constructive criticism is only constructive when it's asked for. The little emotes are not the same as a bug in the software or an issue with UI. In all, custom emotes are an artist's little gift you get (kinda like the custom emotes you get through twitch) and it is looking a gift horse in the mouth to be like "but they aren't good enough."
