Unpopular opinion, but SEGA should be bought by Nintendo. Because the way SEGA's been has been going has really been hurting them in the long run and I feel Nintendo could do a lot with SEGA's IPs they have just sat on since the 90's plus maybe actually give us a good 3D Sonic game as well that isn't all just "LOL memes we suck haha!" like SEGA has been for the past few years....

100% agree. Halo 3 was just amazing. Especially the marketing campaign.
Even though Halo 2 is my favorite for nostalgia reasons with LAN parties and friends.

As someone who's primarily a Nintendo and PC gamer, when I find out someone else primarily enjoys games from a different platform, my response is "I wish I had the time and money to enjoy those games too!"

I really don't understand the desire to split off into different gamer camps and hold up your preferred platform as the superior option to the others. I mainly have a gaming diet of Nintendo franchises because that's the brand of games my family bought growing up, then I got more into PC gaming as an adult because it made more sense financially (I already had a PC for other things and Steam sales are much cheaper than platform exclusives). Never during that time frame did I decide "Nintendo/PC is a much better gaming experience than Xbox/Playstation/Sega Saturn" because I had no experience with those consoles to even make such a comparison.

SM64 was the first video game I ever played. I stayed awake night and day for a week until I beat it. My unpopular vote goes to the very early arcade games like Pacman and Donkey Kong.

I generally hate HD unreal engine graphics. It is an eyesore, as in it literally makes my eyes sore and physically makes me nauseous. I never have this issue with 2D or low poly games.

Also, strobing lights should be banned from games. They are a safety hazard.

Personally I loved n64 Mario, nostalgia maybe, Super Mario bros 2 on the snez was better though and that rpg Mario (pirated) was great!

Also...
Games are best on disc.
Final Fantasy 13 was rubbish.
Tekken milked the main story and wasted so much time.

Drakan Ancients Gate is one of my favorites. It's old and the graphics aren't the best but it's a good story and a good play if you like spelunking. Plus, I love the theme music.

Pokemon has always been pretty boring, Twilight Princess rocked, and FF8 is my favorite of the ones I've played (I haven't played the newer ones because I don't have time for an MMO)

When a game is over 80 hours, I'm not finishing it. Games that are 30 hours long are the sweet spot.

Animal Crossing needs an "I am an adult" option that allows for the shops to be open 24/7 so I can play it at 11 PM because that's the only time I really play video games. And also, I know some people think it's cheating, but Animal Crossing needs to allow for time to be manually changed within the game without having to change the time on your console. It's 2020, Animal Crossing. You're killing, me Animal Crossing, I am an adult and I cannot log into this thing once a day stop penalizing me.

And then, the most unpopular opinion, you gain literally nothing playing retro games without doing save states or modern cheats. Just play the game however you want. If you need to save state--do it. If you need to hack in 1000 lives because the game was made for arcades--do it. The game does not need to be played the way it was intended in 1995

@rajillustration finally. Finally another millennial that doesn't like Pokemon games. :cry_01: I've felt that way for a long time, and I get so much sass for it.
Also...Gamefaqs was my life for games back in the day. Cheat codes make games so much more fun. I wish modern console games had them.

They still do, except now it's your credit card number in the microtransaction store. :cry_swag:

I hate a lot of those types of graphics as well, though more mostly just because it gets really boring to look at considering how much other art styles video games can go with that the fact every just defaults to "It looks like real life!" is just boring...

Also yeah on the seizure thing as well, the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 shipped with that light pattern and literally nobody in the massive dev team caught it at all is just... Baffling.

@nathanKmcwilliams

I agree, dude. Mostly modern "Triple AAA" gaming, though. Indie stuff and smaller stuff is still pretty good.

@aqua03
I will say that I absolutely love Cyberpunk 2077. But...games like Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, and a lot of the other triple A titles are dumb.

Yeah, definitely right there on the Triple A front like that from EA, Ubisoft, and Activison. Most of their stuff is just boring, predatory with microtransactions, and repetitive. Their smaller stuff like Apex Legends and Crash is still pretty solid from what I've heard though.

I'm not loyal to consoles.....i am loyal to games, as long as they deliver good and interesting stuff (or stuff that is my cup of tea)

I'm okay with games but...
Video games, why must you have to be violent in order to be "fun"?
Even in Mario, you have to hurt the enemies. :thinking:

Undertale, Moon Remix RPG, and Deltarune want to know your location....

(Also probably a few others as well, but I can;t think of those off the top of my head...)

Just remembered a mindblowing game that doesn't include any violence.

If you like puzzle games i recommend "Baba is you". Is a game about changing the rules of the level by pushing text to win.....is just so freaking good!!!!!

Nothing beats the time-killing power of a match-three game. Sometimes something simple is the best.
