The negative space you're experiencing is largely due to the size of your monitor/display. Sorry about that.

We have more LGBT offerings on the book side of premium currently - we are trying to add more LGBT titles to the premium section.

We look at every submission sent to:

submissions@tapasmedia.co

As for font blurriness/rendering issues. We've found that the font does not render properly on Internet Explorer.

We're working to resolve this issue shortly. We are also going to up the contrast between the font color and the background.

We're still tinkering with the front page and we appreciate everyone's patience and feedback.

The Popular/Trending sections are static sections that aren't as modular as small/large tiles, collections, etc so we'll have to hardcode those into their positions. We'll be playing around with the placement of those periodically.

Ohhhhh you'll CHANGE the placements once in a while?! I like this!! That's exciting, that way the attention would fluctuate fairly between creator types and everyone gets a piece of the cookie! (ouo)

Hey, mad props for the fast changes made! It looks a lot less cluttered, the first "splash" breaks it down nicely (comics and books + feature), and a slight scroll gives me the trending bar. (It still feels really huge on my 1080 screen though xD)

The new site is tons better, thank you for listening! Let' s just hope the forum button is easier to find!

Agreed! New change looks good :> thank you to the tapas team taking the time to change it <3

We'll be adding it to the profile drop down menu in the future. Now to figure out what a forum icon should look like.

I definitely don't expect it to fill my whole monitor, which I know is a lot wider than average, but it would be nice if the layout were a little more dynamic to account for different screen sizes. The updated layout with less clutter is a huge improvement, though! The negative space is less noticeable when you don't have to scroll for miles.

Thank you Tapas staff, I think the new layout is looking pretty good and less cluttered than before for sure. It'll definitely be interesting to see how you guys rearrange it further. However I really like the Trending in 2nd row and how it kind of interchanges between free and premium content. Kind of like a compromise?

Hi I've got a question! Will the "tapastic.com" url continue to redirect to the new "tapas.io" url? It's because I've printed name cards and comic booklets containing my "tapastic.com/username" url, and people may try to find my site using that instead of the new "tapas.io/username".

Don't know if anyone has noticed yet, but the order on the front page has already changed. Check it out.

  • Top 10's are banners
  • New Books
  • New Comics
  • More trending banners but smaller I think ( Congrats Vincent, your comics be famous. What have I been doing...)
  • Popular
  • Discover More

EDIT: Sorry, font still looks bad.

For me the trending double-row is right below the top 10 comic/books banner, followed by new books and comics.

The "trending banners" you're talking about are staff picked comics that are I guess popular or something, they approached me and asked me to make a banner for that section when it was still app only. I dunno why they would do that lol but I got super happy. Total "senpai noticed me" moment (*’∀’人)♥

Yes, the tapastic.com URL will always redirect to the new tapas.io.

Whoa, send me an e-mail about your name cards and comic booklets! I think the staff would get a kick out of seeing that

michaelson@tapasmedia.co

@JohnVincent - Senpai has acknowledged you

And yes @Devika , there are two rows of Trending. Forgot to be more specific.

@konori - have you tested that old URL. It will still redirect to the changed URL, at least for me.
Ideally, any knew cards you make should probably have the new url on it but "tapastic.com/username" will automatically redirect to "tapas.io/username"
I'm guessing they still own the old url. Will it eventually go away? donno

With the site update, the episode "Title" field has become pretty much invisible to me : o I miss it every time and then get a red warning nastygram when I try to update the comic because the title is missing.

I guess the field just isn't quite where I expect it to be, and is is hard to see, with no border, no bold label, and just a light gray (on white background 8o) background text insert to indicate that it is there at all.

~~~~~~~~~
Oh also, the new comic comment font is sort of big and bubbly and crowded---it is harder to read than the previous font was, and less of it seems to fit into view before you have to click to expand a comment to read the rest of it.
So far I haven't had much problems with the new set up.
However, in the notifications, having everything in white makes it hard to scan and separate from users and topics (I.e. [Username] has liked/subscribed/etc [Comic name] ) and it becomes this jumble of white lines.
@michaelson - I've sent you the email. 8D
@jjfresh - Ah yes, I have tested the old URLs. It's just that when I wrote that post, some of the old URLs (like episode and series links) have not been redirecting to the new tapas site. Now they're working, though (thank goodness).
Hah I knooow. I just uploaded with the new thing and it gave me the red banner and it took me a second.
  • Another potential suggestion would be to actually give the "TITLE" area when uploading a border. This way it'll be easier to notice. Or a background color.
Also, seriously, tone down on all the colors. Reds, greens, orange, in addition to regular greys, far more than necessary. Though, it works in this case.
