I'm just gonna add on to my own thread here but:
I think it's unfortunate that the site revamp coincided with the covid19 pandemic.
I really think this world event is obfuscating performance numbers as people the world over are having their lives disrupted.
And yeah, since more people are being forced inside, supposedly there should be an increase in views and engagement with webcomics and webnovels, but I don't think so from what I've observed. People on social media I've noticed are diving into video games and binging shows. I think they're craving a more reactive, human connection with moving visuals and sound.
Not to mention having the whole family at home can cut down on internet time, dealing with kids or partners and family members working from home.
And of course there's the worrying, and having to plan for self-isolation, shelter-in-place, lockdown, or loose quarantine. There's a considerable amount of logistical planning when one's freedom becomes limited, particularly if one's livelihood is put on hold.
