Webcomic script writer looking for artist for short collaboration(ARTIST FOUND)

Hello Tapas folk! It's been a while. :')

I'm JackOfArtAndProse(I used to be known by another username here on Tapas), a webcomic script writer. I'm looking for an artist who is looking to do a short(and I do mean short, maybe 4-6 or - if the idea grows too much - 10-12 pages) webcomic collab with someone. This is an UNPAID collab. It'd be nice if you had a functional art style(you can convey the things that you want to convey) and a passion for the medium.

As this is a collaborative effort, we'll both throw in ideas until we come up with something that interests us both. My preferred genres are fantasy/humor/mystery, but I can write nearly everything. However, I will not write self-indulgent, smut, gore or NSFW stories.

I'd love my collaborator to be diligent and in daily contact with me through Discord. As for the preferred artstyle, if you CAN draw manga, then all the better. I am, however, taking all applications.

I can't help you, unfortunately, but it's so nice to see posts like this. You didn't ask for a 12 issues-long comic, you don't looking for someone who strictly follows your orders for free, instead you let the artist come up with ideas about the story too, and you actually linked some examples! That's so rare to see. It really shows how much you respect the artist community and I really appreciate it. Hope you find a nice artist!

P.S.: By the way, I loved the sci-fi story you linked above! From now on, I'll call my vacuum cleaner a Suckety-suck too.

@Jevlin Aye, having associated with artists for so long, I've learned how much effort is demanded by every single picture. I still think that insanely long unpaid/shared revenue collaborations are possible, but those require an established relationship between the artist and the writer and LOTS of mutual trust. The writer and the artist would have to work well together and be able to withstand bad days, as well. Also, as you implied, I've found that this kind of collaboration allows both sides to feel invested in the creation process. It makes the project more likely to succeed.

And I'm glad that you liked the Sci-Fi story. It's certainly one of the funnier ones I've written. I actually wrote a second chapter to it ages ago, and it was the better one of the two, but then I lost the manuscript... epic man tears
