go look at Webtoon, they have the same set up where the colour is indicated by genre and no joke, Tapas is using the same colours... only different is that the fantasy tab is a more muted purple and not this god awful adioactive purple slime looking colour

THIS IS CRITICAL!
Contents are missing!
@Yoon sorry for tagging. But this must be a priority

i think a better way to deal with it is just to revert the site back...

We can't get a larger character count for novels, but we get this...?

Don’t make me laugh. Cut me open, and a little Tapamon would jump out. The grass isn’t greener elsewhere. Ironically, a lot of the issues with the new UI are issues I have with other unnamed platforms that I decided to move away from, but also Tapas’ novels team and literally wonderful and I couldn’t imagine going elsewhere with my work right now. I’d rather work with them to see changes made that benefit novelists than flounce off and cut off my nose to spite my face.

Boosting this. I need accessibility for my novels. But also, even though I have Premium works that benefit, I like to see upcoming authors having their hard work rewarded and seeing their work at least take some form of precedence. I don’t feel like Tapas should become a site where novels are second class citizens.

Also, for users who are NOT premium, the hiding of Patreon links/ad banners/removal of banners at the top etc. Is insult to injury. When a change hits people’s bank balances - they will move on.

this...this right here

...anything for WebNovels? Anything BUT Wattpad? I kinda left Wattpad for good cause I really liked the Tapas format but now...hahaha...I may need to go back...:blusht:

I'd appreciate if sites wouldn't take things away from the creator such as seeing you own scheduled pages. This felt like such an essential thing for me when making sure the future pages are looking alright before they get published. It made going back to edit things smoother as I noticed something was off. It was extremely useful!

And please, don't hide things behind more clicking that necessary! It's not how fast paced internet consumer behavior works; the less clicking the better! Such as, there's absolutely no reason for the comic description to be hidden away in the comic front page. I like to know what the comic is about by just looking at the profile, even if its just a short lil thing.

Also the subscribe button, it SHOULD ABSOLUTELY be shining in front of your eyes after you finish reading something so you can add it to your collection right away! I really loved the HUGE "wanna see future updates? add to library!" that instantly came up after last episodes. Added personality to the site too.

Also why did u take away banners? And if u plan on making the site scream white at least give and option to change to dark mode/gray mode or something else. This can really, really affect a great number of people and help them navigate.

There must be something else, alternatives rise up while people get used to the new big site. Comicfury does have a blog system but I don't think you can actually remove the comic widgets from it and turn it into blog only. Also, it's a personal website with SOME community interaction that's basically just the Fresh section and nothing more - so it's not the best place if you want it seen.

As much as I wish I could jump to something better, I'm not leaving Tapas either, or reducing updates; I'm setting up the website in a Smackjeeves worst case scenario where everything is geared towards not letting you leave the site or support creators, which they unfortunately just moved closer to.

As an author for a book with two supernatural entities that converse using italics, the bug that removed said italics from all current chapters on the desktop version is going to be a real hassle, ESPECIALLY if I have to go back through 85,000 words worth of content and edit it back in.

Just yesterday, I was complimenting this site and now today I'm very tempted to rescind that compliment. I don't want to upload onto another Webtoons. I want the comforting colors of the old version, one of the biggest reasons I enjoy getting on the desktop site to upload. I do not like the bland new format and I most certainly don't like that those colors that make you YOU are only found here in the forums.

That is all from this little writer.

I also already have the mobile app. It's fine on the go, but very unappealing on the computer. <:frowning:

Wait, is this something that has happened to everyone??

The new look is horrid. It's ridden of all personality/ what made tapas different from other websites. It's less ergonomic. I would much rather revert. tapas staff PLEASE. You could have at least waited for the design to be optimized and functional before publishing it.

I understand if you made the website more branded, but it's genuinely just bland as F*ck

Unless you are a premium author (the works have a whole other routine that they go through before being uploaded) then yes. Odds are, your italics are gone. But, only on desktop as far as I can see.

They are visible when you (as the author) are editing, but try reading one of your chapters that has italics in it and the words are just gone. Poof. Nothing there if they were italicized.
