Webtoons stats tanking - anyone knows what's going on?

Oh!! that's a good idea LOL I should do that now. I check my stats every month but I'm very forgetful of the numbers, I wish they had something like tapas that gives the year round overview.

Here's what we have over three months. You can actually see the week it begins to dip.

That jump in views in November is predominantly due to a front page ad that was run on topwebcomics. It was fairly low before that.

I'm not convinced by the midterms argument. First, I think the bulk of the readers are super young, and how long does it take to read an update? A couple of minutes? People love procrastinating during study times.

Second, if it were school having this effect on views, it'd be the same thing on Tapas, and it'd be happening every year. Here are my stats for the last 3 years ( started in January 2015). I'm not seeing a recurring Oct/Nov cliff jump here that we've all been going through on Webtoons. Actually, it's December for me that's been the recurring low point.

I feel like the stats work a bit different from everyone since when I compare my webtoon stats with my tapas stats, they are almost identical with the up and down.

This time last year webtoon didn't offer an exact way for you to see your stats so I can't say for sure but I wouldn't just pass the midterm argument either. If not that then what else could affect my stats on both sites simultaneously like that? (despite steady sub gains)

I would love to contribute with my stats but I know that in my individual case, a lower update rate was a big villain in causing my stats to drop this autumn-winter.

Yeah, I've been steadily loosing subs since about that time too I guess. I think I netted -300ish so far. But for me, I got them because I was promoted, so I figured people just subbed without thinking and were now realising it's not their cup to tea. But if it's going on site-wide, maybe that's not what's happening at all.

It's as good as you imagine it is. Subs and views just falling from the sky. That's why I'm not getting too beat up about losing subs and views now, because I know I've been so lucky compared to so many others.

Yes, I have felt that way for a long time. It is, essentially, a webtoon lottery system.

Someone suggested maybe they're doing a bot clear out (honestly can't remember where I read it) and that that might be the secret to the sub issue. Completely unverified at this stage but could be a reason.

That would make sense, especially given there's money on the line.

They updated their app two days ago. We're starting to see a change in our views and subs. It's small but at least it's moving forward.

If it makes you feel more relaxed here some positive stats: subs got a +3 in my update #5 while a +19 in #6 and views went up from +230 to +500 so I feel something positive is happening!

I've been seeing improvement as well. Last month was mostly a loss of subs for me but its been steadily back in the positive recently.
