OMG!! I love Era I'm so happy that this weird time existed because music stores started importing new age bands because of them!

I would say that the world was obsessed with converse. I know, they are still very popular but years ago teenagers only wore converse (some people literally wore converse everywhere, even their prom and weddings). Even cartoons about kids had them wearing converse. It became the stereotype.

Nowadays I see more people wearing HUGE white sneakers or hipster boots.

Silly Bandz were probably the fad I got the least, maybe because they came around right when I was becoming a teenage and thus, entering my "2kool4skool anything the kids like is for dumb babies and I'm a fully grown adult because I can drink caffeinated beverages now" phase. But I still don't really get them, because unlike a lot of other fads: Silly Bandz really didn't "do" anything useful or cool, they were just glorified rubber bands. I remember seeing them packaged with DS shovel ware at my local Kohl's just months after the fad started.

At least we got this hilarious bad movie out of it... (Yes, this was a real thing.)

Converse has to be one of the very few popular trend I ever followed. I found them very comfortable and light, and when they started coming in a lot of colors (mid 90"?) I even got myself quite a collection. My favorites were the bright orange ones, which made me look weird because I was mostly wearing black or olive green clothes haha.
I also had this little tradition of customizing an old pair every year for the music festival season. I think I still have them... but no picture possible because they are in a different country

I'm now feel like getting myself a new pair, after 20 years with none.

I don’t know if this is something that was worldwide, but I remember when Five Night’s At Freddy’s came out and EVERYONE was playing it. I remember it being on YouTube, MatPat was going crazy over dissecting it, and it was even at an anime convention that I went to in the Game Center.
