Like we say in r/AskScienceFiction, it depends on the setting.
If this were the Elder Scrolls I'd totally go for vampire. They don't regenerate health, stamina, or magicka in sunlight and they're vulnerable to fire and silver weapons but those can be mitigated with the right enchanted gear. The benefits are that they're immune to poison and cold, gain bonuses to stealth and mind-magic, and get a bunch of exclusive vampire spells. Other attributes include having a slight facial disfigurement, being technically dead, and having an easily-satisfied thirst for blood. They can also eat normally and are immortal.
They get a better deal than werewolves, who in this setting are otherwise-normal people with an animal form that they lose control of sometimes. They age and die, and when that happens they become the new hounds of the God of the Hunt.
