What are considered 'frequent' updates?

Hey all!
I have a question for all of you who have been doing this longer than I have. I'm a novel writer, and have been updating once a week, but I see a lot of people who update more frequently, and those who update less. I started reading on here long before I started uploading my writing, and all the novels I read update weekly and take frequent hiatus's. Am I updating too little?
What are all your update schedules like?

Honestly, once a week is pretty good! What matters most to readers is really that you update regularly, most are understanding that not everyone can spend too much time writing. Also, it's important to go at a pace that doesn't cause you too much stress.

Some of the people updating multiple times a week probably have some chapters ready to go and I would recommend building up a buffer just in case. But yeah, just update regularly, find a pace that works for you, and communicate with your readers when you need to take a break.

I do once a week.

But when I had more time on my hands, 2 to 3x a week.

Once a week a perfectly fine! What's important is having a consistent day and time that you upload on. As it'll help make it much easier for your readers to keep up with new releases.

Once weekly is the standard, if you can cut it. The ideal would be 3x a week, but not if it's going to cause you burn out. But the most important thing is to be consistent and let your readers know what's up ahead of time.

I guess once a week would be frequent, but I try to post at least twice a month, because I am busy with a lot of things!

I release new updates once a month. I could not for the life of my keep up with the pace needed for weekly releases.

That is a journey to find the right balance of work. that allows breathing and balance to be had. was once a day shifted to once a week, and the strings are becoming more for the weekly puzzle boxes on the inked path of comics. Then again, also doing art, there has to be a good pace for the work to be done.

Oh I couldn't even imagine doing the artwork too. I just had to take a week off of writing to complete the art for my book cover and felt that it was rushed just for one image! Kudos to you for doing a whole comic!

Once a week has been working well for me on my main story (I have a secondary one that I do every two weeks). I keep meaning to take a week off and just focus on building up some chapters, but I fell down the rabbit hole of doing my own artwork for my book cover recently and teaching myself how to use digital art programs ate up all the 'free time' I thought I had, lol. How do you convey to your readers when you are taking a break?

I have been scheduling the uploads to release at the same time at, like, 1am my time. Do you find a specific time of day better than others?

I get that, same thing happens when I get back into drawing, lol. You can post an author's note at the end of your latest chapter when you update. When you go to post a new chapter there's a description box right under where you upload your thumbnail, you can write about taking a break there. You can also post on your profile, but I think people who only use the app won't see that.
