sooo, this one requires a bit of clout and a bit of connections, the ability to do it depends on where you live and whats available.
but basically, a workshop is a lesson, except its open-access and one-time usually. and a workshop facilitator is the teacher of that lesson. workshops can also be in series. so if your local community centre or youth group had a budget for workshops, you could pitch them to make a workshop series on comics or painting or character design - these can either just be spaces for people to work together on [thing] and youre there to help them along and make sure everything goes smoothly, or it can be a more active teaching role where each workshop is about a subject with a set roster of activities.
for example, ive hosted a few poetry workshops at a local community centre where i develop a session plan with a subject (say, poetry comics, or performance) and some activities that help people develop their skills and understanding in that subject area. when i say this requires clout, i think that depends on where youre pitching to and how you know them - i started hosting workshops with a place where id done some work experience the year before, but also had some clout under my belt as a poet. if you want to start hosting workshops, youll need to prove your expertise in the field to whoevers hiring you - but this can be through experience or qualifications or both, and theres usually places thatll give you an unpaid start for experience.
if you live in a big city, its likely there are various groups looking for workshop facilitators somewhere in the city, and you can also offer your services to schools and youth groups. you might need to do the first few for free, but theyre a lot of fun tbh.
