My two cents. Dont avoid tropes just other people dislike it.
Like.. that's the worst mentality when it comes to writing and would more or less stifle you for years to come. Please dont, trust me I've seen how these threads go and 99% of time alot of tropes get listed that have appeal for a reason and are more just the posters personal gripes
Just figure out your goal in what you like and want and write from there.
Honestly I think twilight is over hated. Period. Mostly cus it's no more toxic or """bad""" than the million other power fantasy isekai and stories I know alot of people like. Its popular for a reason. I'm not its audience that I know but I dont have that weird internet hatred for it.
As for tropes I personally dislike they are less tropes and more general story telling flaws.
Like characters just as much as they say they love each other dont seem to 3ven try to clear up mis understandings.
Or when the writer just makes the relationship so boring in I might as well look at paint dry due to the boring milktoadt characterization.
People got flaws writers!
But once again dont avoid tropes just cus some people dislike them
