to be honest, there are a lot of really sad scenes in "Damsel in the Red Dress," but I think the opening scene is honestly pretty tragic in and of itself because it should have been a happy occasion. (though it's not one of the scenes that people said made them cry.)

There are several sad scenes but the most significant one in my humble opinion is Oriel being separated from Erik. It's a devastating scene because, for most of the series, we've seen them together, and we've seen how their bond deepens, so for Oriel to be taken away without warning is enough to devastate Erik.

Edit: If you think that's sad, just wait until you read the ending in another four months. You'll all be crying your eyes out.

I haven't gotten to the saddest scene in either of my stories yet but for alpha squad, it was betrayal. One of them betrayed the team

And as fir through mortal eyes......... It's best I don't say anything yet

The last few pages in my comic are actually pretty sad  but no one has to worry about that for a long time. There’s still like 150 pages before any sad stuff happens :sweat_01:

For Wild Nights, Hot and Crazy Days, there are several sad scenes. Within the first few chapters two six year old children die in a New Year’s Eve drowning accident. Immediately after that a character suffers from mental illness and makes some really stupid choices. Then another character, a 14 year old kid, dies in a structure fire.

The saddest part of all, though, was toward the end of the story, when a character succumbed to his addiction and killed himself by jumping off a bridge.

What makes these events particularly sad is that they all really happened. WNHCD is a true story.

Defining Daecon is considerably more lighthearted, but there are a few sad moments. In a flashback a dog is killed, and toward the end of book one an important character gets killed. This story is fiction, though I still feel bad about that dog.

why does killing a fictional dog almost feel worse than killing a fictional person at times TT.

Killing a fictional dog ALWAYS feels worse than killing a fictional person! It’s the same in movies, when you see a big fight scene on horseback. Two thousand people getting slaughtered, and I’m like DON’T YOU DARE HURT THOSE HORSES!

Cathrine's story is a bit of a tragedy:

As part of the Buntha Village, che would come into contact with the city of Oasis and get acquainted with a prominent politician named Agnes, aka Old Nan.

Both Cat and Anges were opposed to Citadel's growing influence in Oasis. In Cat, Agnes saw a valuable partner to stop their growth at the root. But Cat would have to move to Oasis to do so.

Cat's boyfriend wanted nothing to do with Oasis. In fact he wanted to go out on a journey with her, leave the Village and the politicking behind. With their friends gone or settling down, now was the perfect time to do so. But Cat didn't agree.

They both tried to convince the other of their plans. Neither would budge, yet neither wanted to be without the other Eventually they knew they had to go their separate ways. And after a final day and night together, they did just that. Not seeing each other again for many years.

9 months after that final night, Kyara was born and Cathrine became a mother. Now living full time in Oasis city, and a ranking member of its Guardian Corps under the leadership of Agnes.

In the years that followed, Cat fought a losing battle against the growing influence of the Citadel, while trying to raise Kyara to the best of her abilities. She would tell her stories of her past adventures, but never of her father or being a Buntha. The memories of him being too painful.

Someone will die unfortunately :disappointed:
By the end there will be 6 relevant characters and 2 of them will die. Can’t say who though. Two of the relevant characters haven’t even been introduced yet.

Probably the most recent one! I would say it's sad, but it could also be disturbing. (TW to those who wants to check it out!)
Due to MC's naivety and innocence, he agreed to things he'll regret very soon...
