Aside from that, when people see my drawings or learn about me actually drawing a manga:
"No way! You drew all of this yourself?!"
no, I hired a crew of drunk hamsters drawing it FOR me!

"Did you make the STORY, too?!?!"

Srsly, the ONLY person allowed these questions is my grandma, just because drawing comics is something completely new to her and she's amazed what I can actually do with a piece of paper - but I often get these questions from people my age @_@

Another all-time-fave came from a friend (who is now not talking to me anymore XD):
"Hey, I have these two girls for tutoring and they really like this manga stuff - can't you draw them as portraits?"
On a quick side note: That was shortly before my university finals so my time was very rare
Me: Um... well, now is not... um... how much would they like to pay?
She: Pay?! It's just two headshots!
Me: Yeah, which, if I do them properly with colour, take up at least 2-4 hours per page. Time which I need for my finals. But I do need money, so...
She: Uh... I'll talk to them...?

On that note, when someone finds out I'm quarter German (this is a recent development, I actually thought I was half German until Oma pretty much admitted while she was dying that she was NOT German and a member of the Romani people, she just HAD to say she was German once she married Opa) I get a lot of these unwanted responses.

"Are you a nazi??"

"Are you parents nazis??"

"You're German?? Heil Hitler! hand salute Haha!"

"Do you hate Jews?"

"You know Hitler had some pretty good points and ideals -goes on and on and on about the things they think are great about Hitler."

Oh, the channel was going to be a Naruto Abridge series. They're like parody-shorts from the actual anime. It's popular over the internet! Anyway, for his channel he wanted me to draw a self portrait of him with a Naruto jumpsuit and a kingdom heart's keyblade. He told me he was gonna get in contact with NateWantsToBattle real popular Youtuber and do a collaboration with him.

I didn't see it happening because he'd be a small Youtuber with 4, 5 or so subs with nothing to offer for NateWantsToBattle. Usually a collaboration needs to benefit two parties. Plus, his messages are likely to be bypassed because of similar messages or an overload of messages in Nate's inbox. Btw, NateWantsToBattle has around 1mil subscribers!

Mostly from my parents: "Why don't you ever show us your art?" or "Why don't you show (insert person) your drawings?"

Because personally I don't think half the stuff I draw is decent enough to show people and I want to spare myself the embarrassment of showing people something I probably could have done better on. For some reason I don't care much about sharing my stuff online but showing people I'm close to in person is just, ehh... I feel like they'll make weird comments and I'm already annoyed at my own ability to notice all the mistakes in a drawing after I finish it.

"Why does Rineris have pink hair?"

It was an accident.. I'm a bit color blind and the artist changed her hair from brown to pink for some reason, and I didn't notice until people started to point it out. This was especially embarrassing when I was showing my comic to some associates in Seattle, who made fun of the art style which is supposed to be a blend between manga/western styles. As a result I'm changing her hair to brown in the final result, when I actually print my book.

Idyll Haven is the graphic novel in development, by the way. I'm 3 chapters in, out of 12... got a long ways to go.
