So this question has been on my mind for a while now, and I figured why not ask it here and see what you fellow creators have to say. I'm wondering what skills do you have that you think can be valuable for other creators and what skills they have that would be valuable to you in a way that's exchangeable?
For example, I'd like to think I'm a fairly decent (albeit armature) proofreader beta reader, editor and writer. On the other hand, I cannot draw for the life of me. Visual art is just not something I'm good at, unfortunately, so when it comes to things like covers or character designs I either have to do with the way below average things I can produce or forgo them altogether. In an ideal situation, I'd love to pay an artist to create those things and support their art along the way - but financially, that's not an option for me at the moment (a situation I'm sure at least a few people here have faced). But that got me thinking - are there maybe people out there who are fantastic artists, and could benefit from one of the things I can do, in a way that would be exchangeable with their own skills?
Just to be clear, this isn't me looking for someone to actually make such an exchange happen (though if this thread somehow manages to create more connections between creators, awesome. Sounds like a good community thing to me). I'm more curious about other people's views on this - which I'm sure would be different, considering the fact we all have our different areas of strengths and weaknesses. But that just makes it more interesting, right?
