Raised Christian but very open to various beliefs and religions. Been through many hauntings and supernatural events so I don't really have a choice but to believe in these things and the consequences of them. Mostly lean on Christian principles [do good, be good, Jesus loved you] but don't bother with church much anymore due to constantly being told that God would hate me just for loving my gal-pal girlfriend. Went to two separate baptist universities and am close friends with those of various faiths. [Pagan, Muslim, etc] I believe in being open and choosing what is best for YOU and not following just to follow.

I'm a Latter Day Saint, also commonly known as Mormons. . I was nearly about to be agnostic atheist but yeah ;>

That's probably more common than you think, just very few would ever admit to that since it could mean being shunned.

@noctuidae, my mom was a Catholic... But she converted to Evangelical a.k.a. Born Again. It's a loooooong story.

A lot of people asks this to me "What does 'born again' mean? Is it literally as you were born again?"

And hey, do you think Filipino atheists are not so familiar in our country?

I believe in Spinoza's God.

Though I was baptised as catholic christian when I was born (tradition, you know) is not like I practice that religion at all, though I feel respect for it and I behave when I enter a church

I respect all religions, and I like to know about them, their stories and prophets are quite interesnting, but I so fucking hate fanatism.....when people twist the original idea....

and I draw horns and demons and everything I want.

Yay! A Mormon! smiley

For a minute there, I thought I was the only Latter Day Saint here sweat_smile Do you live in Utah?

Hmmm... to be frankly honest, and despite the fact that I'm LDS, I'd say I'm closest to a Christian/Agnostic. I want to believe in God, and in some ways I do, but I just don't know for certain. To be honest, no one does! We can't disprove that a God exists due to the very fact we exist, but we can't prove that God exists because there is no tangible evidence. All we can really do is have faith that He's there, or in other words hope he is there, and stick to that hope.

In conclusion, "I believe in God, but I don't know if there is a God or not."

Very well said, and I agree. In my religion, we believe God gave us Agency, or the ability to freely choose and act according to our own conscience. Even though I've been raised as a Mormon in a Mormon community, I still decide to follow my belief because that's what I feel most comfortable with. No matter how we worship Him (or not), we should do it the way we feel is best.

Aw heheh! no I live in the Philippines :/ but there arent a lot of us here, since most are Catholic.
Ive seen a picture of Jesus Christ(you know the ones they put on primary rooms?) on someone's workspace sometime ago in the forums here so I know I'm not alone ;D

They say that "You know you're Filipino when you have a Sto.Niño..."

I'm not Catholic.

This guy said that "All Filipinos attend the Noche Buena."

I'm not Catholic, hehe

"In my opinion, everyone has a spiritual need to fulfill, to recognize their connection to something beyond themselves;"

I used to say that I believe in belief itself, and that everybody believes in something, but your version is so much more nicely put. Even if it's "just" a belief in something as (seemingly) elusive as values, emotions or concepts.

So, except for religiously feeding my mind with stories, I'm not a religious person at all. However, I nurture beliefs that are funded in many religions, and beliefs that can only be found in one or the other odd philosophy or phantasy. I was once called a "weird Agnostic Universalist" but thatdesignation doesn't seem to work for my understanding.

Agnostic myself. I don't know if there is or is not a god or gods, and if there are or aren't said gods it would be no surprise to me, as I guess I would expect that it is either one or the other because I do not know yet don't dismiss. It's not something that I could just throw my faith into, as I actually do not like the idea of faith all that much (if you really think about it in the most basic manner, it's kind of a form of trust that can really screw you over if you put it in the wrong thing) Granted I have no issues nor think badly of people that do put their faith in such things, it's just not something I would do.

Not that I don't find religion interesting in it's own right, it's very interesting and I'm often studying up on different religions in my free time, it's a hobby I guess. Also I DO like the idea of things being created / caused / looked after by beings with just big imaginations and the means to create whatever the heck they want (I don't know if this is because I'm an artist and writer and can appreciate that theme) so the idea is appealing to me, yet at the same time I can't say "oh yeah, totally exists" just because I like the idea.

Yeah, I have my own picture of Jesus sitting on top of my computer module, and two more on my bookcase.

Y'know, this whole situation reminds me of a comic1 I did a while ago.
Not quite sure how religiously accurate it is now that I look back to it, but I just thought you'd be interested.

I'm pagan. I could go into further detail of what I believe in my pagan path, but it's really confusing and makes me sound insane XD XD

98% of my family is Christian, but it simply wasn't for me, I was too busy sneaking out of church to play in the woods as a lil yumper. My dad noticed the signs and knew I would be attracted to paganism so he didn't try to stop me. My grandfather taught me some basic stuff of the craft when I was in middle school but stopped when my mother found out, and she was not happy lol XD

I don't have any issues with other religions, and I respect other religious branches :') There used to be a lot of hate in my heart for reasons I won't go into detail, because I love how civil we're all being on this topic, but I got over my hate and now it's a deep respect for other religions :') If there's a religion I don't know much about, I'll do my research and sate my curiosity before anything. If I meet someone who's a different religion than mine, I'll ask them questions as to not accidentally offend them, show interest on their perspective since we all come from different walks of life, and continue the friendship :')

@Wolven_Sister When you say "pagan", what does that entail? As an amateur history-nut, for me, "pagan" ranges from the vikings' worship of Odin and Thor all the way though to pre-Islamic polytheist desert religions and modern Wiccans; it's kind of a broad range of possibilities.
