What artist inspired you to make a Webcomic?

What artist inspired you to make a Webcomic? I’m asking this because I’ve heard from friends that a lot of people started from attack on Titan or like Naruto which I totally understand. I started because I was reading Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and I really like the art style and like the characters so I kind a got inspiration from that to make my own Webcomic. What artist inspired you to make a Webcomics?

No artist for me. I started because I didn't know of a better way to tell my story. I am slowly figuring out a novel adaptation, but the comic really lends itself to the stories overall style and allows me to easily switch perspectives/time without messing up the reader.

First comic books I read (in the 90s) were old horror manga. I started drawing comics since then. And reading Naruto fuelled my drive to draw comics.

I grew up reading newspaper comics back when newspaper comics were cool. My two favorites were Charles Schulz's Peanuts and Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes.

In my senior year of high school I discovered you could make comics and post them on the Internet. Sluggy Freelance was my gateway, but then I discovered a tsunami of others. Fred Gallagher's Megatokyo was a huge influence; I loved the pencil art, and I also took pointers about laying out panels and not having to end every page with a punchline.

In the manga department, Kiyohiko Azuma is another influence of mine. His works Azumanga Daioh and Yotsuba&! are great in how they find humor in mundane everyday things.

I grew up loving newspaper comics and had a healthy appreciation for manga by the time I was in middle school, but what really inspired me to make my own webcomic was Girl Genius. I'm not sure how much of it rubbed off on my own work, though.

I haven’t made one, but am planning to make one. I am mainly inspired by the drawings of Kentaro Miura, and the webtoon Solo Leveling.

I started out making cringy fan comics of with my own characters interacting with existing ones (not Sonic, I was pure). I found a love for telling my own stories and here we are. I'm a 90's kid, so Pokemon was my gateway to anime, I remember watching an episode with my brother and making fun of the lips not matching, because we didn't know how dubs worked. Then we became totally Pokemon fans by the end of it. Anyway, Pokemon and Digimon lead me to finding out about manga, I loved the style and I wanted to do something similar one day. I remember reading Shaman King and I'm sure there were others, but that one sticks out. After that I would buy random manga volumes from the store that I liked the art style of to in order help me improve and learn about story telling. So....many inspirations, but Pokemon lead me here lol

My biggest inspiration is history and folklore. I wanted to show people of others cultures how did it work in slavic country as Poland is. I haven't seen comics like this before, so I thought it nice way to make something oryginal and also promote the culture I grew up in. Comics of any other way to show story is much more enjoyable for audiece to assimilate it rather than dry facts.

Mmm good question. To be perfectly honest, I have multiple. First I can remember, I was inspired to draw because I just loved comic styles and book covers and whatnot—just generally. Then I got more into the anime style, I was inspired by Studio Ghibli... I was horrible at drawing, but you know what, let’s not talk about that. Luckily that only lasted a few months or so... and then I was just influenced by artists online, though not by art style, but by their passion for art. But the person who mainly influenced me to create my art style was Haley Newsome. And now the people on Tapas have!
