What book is currently your favorite?

It’s a story that’s 10 million words long and on going. I’ve even re-read it once and though it took 3 months, it was a fantastic read!

I'm a big fan of "Going Postal" By Terry Pratchet who is the same guy who co-wrote the Good Omens book with Neil Gaiman! It's a story about an ex-conman who is forced to either revive the towns postal system or be executed (Spoiler: he choses the postal route)

My current is The Groomer by Jon Athan. I would not recommend it to anyone who isn't into (extreme) Horror though. That, and Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff which I've been trying to get through for the past months now lol it's also a PG18+ read and soo not like Twilight. Trust me, it's darker and way better written.

@MissPaige36 it's dark fantasy. It has themes of abuse, blood, violence, etc. Real unsparkly vampire themes with fangs and snarls, y'know? A bit of like Interview with the Vampire (bless Anne Rice's departed soul)

@Stargazer31 the only book by C. Henry I've enjoyed was Near the Bone. Quite an atmoshperic read for a horror novel

Yeah! It's one of the easier Terry Pratchet books to get into because it's pretty independent of the other book series :)>

Joking apart, my all time favourite book was one that I read in middle school after seeing the movie in elementary school. That’s right, I’ve read hundreds, maybe thousands of books in my lifetime, and my favourite of them is a book aimed at 14 year old kids.

The move was called The Secret of NIMH, and it had me captivated as a kid. The book was called Mrs Frisby and the Rats of NIMH, and I read it to do a book report on in grade 7. This was my first time realizing that books are usually so much better than movies. It was a revelation. Not only did the movie omit much of the most interesting stuff, it also added a bunch that had nothing to do with the book (for example there was no magical amulet in the book).

If any of you have seen the movie but haven’t read the book you are doing yourself a great disservice. Of course this goes for most books that have had movies made after them (including HP, LOTR, GoT, the Space Odyssey series, etc) but this was the one that opened my eyes.

Because of it I’m one of those people that watch a movie and complain “But that’s not how that happened!”

This is such a hard question! But right now I am personally reading Brandom Mull, Dragon Watch the sequel to the FableHaven Series. I can't put the books down! Every time I read his stories I get sucked into the adventures and wonders!

Currently, I'm re-reading Tamora Pierce's Wild Magic. It's a great fantasy that lets me enjoy it every time I re-read it.

The movie is still very much worth watching. It is an animated feature directed by Don Bluth and has a Disney style about it, but darker and more mature than Disney. The book is still way better though.

I've been rereading a lot of Chinese BL novel cuz they just released an English translation:

1) Scum Villain's Self-Saving System . a man got isekai into a novel and become the antagonist. He have to do whatever it takes to avoid his death. His monologue is funny AF

2) Heaven Official's blessings (TGCF) . This is one of the top tier love story I've ever read. Imagine spending 800 years waiting to see your loved ones again and I love the mc his journey make me cried so much

Tamora Pierce's books are amazing. She was one of the first books I've read that had such strong powerful female heroines! From Alana to Beka Cooper! She's a must-read I agree with you!
