Hello! I just had this delusional idea to create this, it might not work out well but I'll try it anyways! If you don't really understand what the title means, let me explain it to you. So you basically want to find a character you made from one of your books/comics that relates to you the more, and explain us why it relates.. You can promote your book at the same time and check out the others as well.

Don't worry, you don't have to share personal informations, it's a friendly place here...

I believe I ressemble the most a character from the serie The Truth About Nora Jones. Nora is a girl with anemia who lost her mother at a very early age, and it left a trauma-wait before thinking I'm relating to it. Her story is basically her going at a new school in secondary four when she learns about her condition, because her family judges it's safer.

Now, what's in common?
- Insecurities
- Huge empathy
- Kind heart
- Skeptical thoughts

If ever you're interested, I'm going to share it down below! It is the tome one, as I'll make the tome two after ending up two other novels I did, Taboos and A Deadly Wish:

Don't hesitate to share what you have in common the most with what character, along with the story! I'm curious to see what you guys will put-hopefully it won't fail!

I think lots of my characters relate to me in one way or another. Perhaps the one who relates to me the most is Alicia Palmero from my novel "Damsel in the Red Dress" though. I relate to her struggle with feelings of incompetence because the only job she has ever worked is art. Her thought process is basically "if I can't do art what else am I qualified to do?"

For me, it's writing rather than art, and she's got much more education than I do, but the feelings are still inspired by my own.

I also relate to her not being very well off as a child, not being able to have her own room, wearing a lot of hand-me-downs or thrifted clothes, shoes with holes in them, and believing it was her job to be a guardian for her little brother (though I have multiple little siblings) when the world they knew began falling to pieces around them. Also Alicia's insecurity about her scars is based on my own.

There are a lot more similarities but i'd be here forever if I listed them all. I will say though, that I'm also mixed race hispanic and born in Maryland USA.

Last time I had a character resemble me was awhile back... Eman Cruz (the filipino guy) from my completed comic, MAG-ISA...

I don't do that anymore. Next time I'm doing a character that resembles me, he or she will be a villain you'll hate (or love since they'll be a Chad or Stacy  )

Trivia: I've been falsely accused of being this guy...

I can cheat and say the Main character of the second chapter/story of my collection of short stories is just like me fr fr, because he's just my thinly vailed teenaged experience with minor changes. ie; he's a dude and I combined some stuff my brother did with what my mother did for ease of reading.

But I feel like that's kind of cheating and I've grown a lot since then, being a grown ass woman now.
So, not counting that, none of them are really.. me. But, I suppose, I am a little like a character I have yet to introduce.
Mangus is an anxious mess who cannot escape the feeling of guilt. His guilt is warranted, where I am just so used to being blamed for any and everything that I feel guilt for the most nonsense reasons. He grew up as the "less loved" sibling, though unlike me he still cares about his sibling. He misspeaks constantly, can't lie well, but is generally trying his best and do good for everyone around him-- even at the expense of himself since he does kind of hate himself. People say he's smart, but he can't really see it (and I kind of portray him as a goofy idiot so he probably isn't, really). He's bi. Looks nothing like me though. The leading lady Miilo looks most like me, if we're going on just that.

Man… I don’t really relate to/resemble any of my characters. This is because my life is actually pretty boring, so my brain supplements that by coming up with fun stories. There are a few little tidbits of my characters that I relate to, like Ian’s loneliness, or Victor not expressing his emotions, (not that I don’t express emotions, but there are often times when I don’t say how I feel because I feel like it would cause conflict) but like I don’t think I have much in the way of a life that could be expressed through a story. My life is good, but that means there’s little conflict and story-worthy material to base my characters off of.
Little conflict in life led me to create fictional conflict in stories. Kinda interesting to think about.

You know what I’m going to post some major spoiler:

Although I did put a little bit of myself in all my character, I think the person who resembles me the most is Alex.

Which is surprising because for all the currently released chapters she’s presented as an antagonist.

Early sketch of Alex without all the clothing she wear to obscure her gender.

But she is actually is:
an autistic women
pretended to be a man for while
Has trouble socializing
Is Military nerd
Self loathing issues
Often double down on bad decisions due pride.

Hopefully, everyone will forget what I just revealed by the time I actually get to explore that part of the character:

Probably my main character Elyn. Besides both of us having dreads lol we both lost people close to us and dealt with depression. Only difference is that I’ve found a way to heal somewhat whereas Elyn hasn’t. Both of us have a good support system.

In Haru and Tsukasa, the character that resembles me the most is Haru, but that's because I can relate to her struggles, like her forgetfulness.

Haru is the brown one, by the way. (Both of us have some Tamil ancestry)

I think my MC Friar resembles me the most

  • White chicken
  • Smart-a$$
  • Slight ego (least for creative things for me, but I get humbled from my own bad art XD)
  • Set in beliefs (well, used to be religious)
  • High-pitched voice (I sound like a 12-year old, Friar sounds like a Soprano)
  • Likes to write (I do it on the side)

Life's bit of a comedy/drama for us.

Thanks for this thread! This is a fun topic

None of my characters resemble me in appearance. But I would say the most similar to me is David.

  • We're around the same age (I'm 26, he's 28) and we're both Virgos :virgo:
  • He's a perfectionist, especially when it comes to himself.
  • He gets overwhelmed/anxious easily (mostly bc he's overworked lol)
  • He's very dedicated to his passions and the people he loves.

ok so I try to share the same amount of myself following these rules.
my OCs have:
something I like of myself, something I hate of myself, a feature of the person I'd like to be, and what I wouldn't want to become.

when we create a character, we just make it a part of ourselves, and such creating a reflection of either us, or someone close to us. and you'll have a better control over this if you do it consciously.

for example, my main character is:
sassy, but can't keep his mouth shut, he's very resourceful but tends to focus to much on himself and tunnel focus on his objective, sometimes, leaving people behind.

Then there's Larry:
He's a dreamer, but can be oblivious to what's happening around him, he sees the good in people, even when there isn't, but he is very dependent on his family and friends.

like I said, I try to do this fully aware so that I can fully understand their motives, control what they do without many inconsistencies.

but if I had to say WHICH is has the most of "me": I'd say is this guy.

and if I'm being real, the fact that he's so similar to my persona was pure coincidence.
