Cliches and tropes are not only unavoidable but frequently necessary. While some can be harmful or just plain bad, there are plenty that serve as a cultural shorthand. Concepts that serve as a starting point that help stories along.
For me it's definitely average person versus great evil and all if it's variations. Basically the core of most young adult novels. Teenagers saving the world and all that.
I will also eat up almost every vampire cliche I can get my greedy hands on. Handsome, mysterious, charming stranger in the night? Yes, please.
