Coff coff. Here we go.
In Dragon Sparking...the powers are called Sparks!
They're a genetic anomaly present in approximately 50% of the intergalactic population.
Sparks manifest as an addition to the nervous system. They have their own nerve cell structure called a Spark Node. They grow in on their own, but there are genetic bloodlines that are more likely to have them.
Certain planets seem to have more manifestations of Spark growth than others. This has been linked to a specific type of electromagnetic field called Source energy. Though it's unknown publicly what causes Source energy to be present on a planet. But what is known, is that populations on planets with high amounts of Source energy typically have a higher rate of Sparks in the population.
Okay okay. That's all fine and dandy. But how do they work, you ask?
Sparks are activated by their hosts. It's a simple matter of thinking about it. Like flipping on a light switch. People with multiple Sparks have difficulty switching more than one on. Often times this causes nerve damage, even brain damage.
When a Spark is switched on, there's a flash of light, it's incredibly fast, but many people swear it looks like a four pointed star. After that, an energy field, or EF is generated. At this point the host can manipulate this field.
There's three kinds of EF.
Input (these effect the host body)
Output ( these effect the world around the host)
Input/Output ( these do both!)
As for the types of powers gained from these energy fields, it's quite...varied. So varied in fact, it defies logic.
There are several types of powers that are common though:
Physical strength enhancement
The majority of Spark users don't have powers that do a whole lot, especially the most common ones. There's some rare ones out there that are super weird.
There's quite a bit more that I could dive into. But that's enough for now.
